2013/2014 Hot Wheels Elite, Heritage & F1 Line Up

A source today provided a look into Hot Wheels 2013/2014 catalogue.  None of this can be confirmed 100%, but I’m more than confident this is the stage for the next year or so.  Hopefully the up coming Nuremberg Toy Fair will shed more details and photos, but for now I hope the following will satisfy collectors until then.

The list is little disappointing to say the least.  A little thin and still no other manufacture brands other than Ferrari unless you account for the Cult Classic series.  Hot Wheels we want you to diversify!  Also notice the name change for the entry level Foundation line to Heritage with the Heritage now featuring opening doors only with sealed trunk and engine bay.  Big no no!  Lastly note the new Ferrari model scheduled for December 2013, now what could that be?  Please read below for definitions of the entire Hot Wheels line-up.  Happy collecting!

Times are tough……most of this listing is ‘re-color’ and ‘tool mod’………..that and the very vague new issue at end of 2013, which translates into 2014. I fully agree that closing off the hoods and trunks is a cheapening of the product….but, in all fairness, the options are either a completely sealed model ( curbside ) OR what HW are doing. The other option is to follow other makers down what I see as a suicidal path of ever escalating prices to the point of pricing yourself out of the hobby completely. Much as I understand the angst many feel about ‘non-opening’ models, I will remind one and all that these models spend the VAST majority of their time nicely closed up sitting on a shelf…..so the ‘opening’ features are a short term gratification only…..no big loss ( at least to me ). Let’s see if Nuremburg sheds additional light on this line-up………maybe even adds a welcome surprise or two ?
