ACME New 1956 Chrysler New Yorker St. Regis

A new model and new mould is coming of the 1956 Chrysler New Yorker St. Regis.  A first in 1:18 scale, this diecast replica features access to the motor and internal bits too.   The first release will see Red and Cloud White with Raven Black roof exterior paint.  A great colour combination for sure!  The mould isn’t new, but one that was in development by Precision Miniatures and never made it to full production.   Suggested retail is $129.95US.  Street date is scheduled for December 2018.

They’re finally doing the ’56 Chrysler tri-tone! PM may have done some of the best engines in 1/18 scale, as evidenced by the Belly Tank Lakester, and the ’61 Mazmanian Vette. So even though I’m not a fan of Chrysler Corp’s ’56 line of cars, I will be getting one of these Chryslers. Hope Acme will also make the ’58 Olds (in violet, please). and the late ’40s Caddy fastback (in a color not already produced by NEO, BoS), which were announced by Precision Miniatures.

Cars from the fabulous 50’s when the styling imagination and color choices were at their peak of originality are in my opinion the prettiest cars around and having this Chrysler in 1/18 is a great example. I just hope that Acme continues to bring cars of the 1950’s in 1/18 for the serious collectors wanting high quality diecast cars. I have ordered this one for December delivery.
