ACME New 1967 Nickey Chevrolet Camaro 427 SS

ACME’s latest project is the 1:18 1967 Nickey Chevrolet Camaro 427 SS.  Along with the car a truck and trailer featuring the same colour theme are in the works.  In typical ACME fashion the Camaro 427 SS features diecast metal with opening parts.  A host of goodies include detailed motor, interior and underbelly.  The Marina Blue exterior is just fabulous too!  Only 750 units will be produced, retail is suggested $134.95 US.  This one will be on shelves this coming July.

Nickey Chevrolet was here in Chicago! I can still hear the radio commercials. . . “with the backwards K!” (As was their logo.)

While I understand retooling a full car is really expensive, the front grille of this older Lane Exact Detail based model should really be reviewed to better reflect the real 67 Camaro. The RS type grille does a better job. Also, underhood detail could be upgraded to newer standards as AutoWorld has been doing with older Ertl models. While it is a good looking model overall, this tooling is getting long in the tooth.

Agreed, that does not look to be the most accurate model, those old Lane Camaro’s are no where near the model the H61, 69’s were. I think the Lane was just a little under scale too.

Robert, Josh I stopped buying the newer GMP cars because they just don’t do it.

The Camaros and Firebirds are probably older tools than the Pontiac GTO, 1970 Chevelle and the Plymouth Road Runner and GTX as these are way better in detail than the GM F-body cars. But some effort could be put into these to at least make them look better!
