Auto World is showing off a pre-production sample of their new 1:18 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 as it appeared in HOT ROD Magazine over 40 years ago. Very cool! The exterior features Metallic Red with flames, Black vinyl top, and Black interior. This piece of American muscle is scheduled for release July 2017.

At least AutoWorld is upgrading their models a bit, better detailing inside and out, carpet flocking, better defined window surround moldings, better tail lights… But they could do even more to make them better. They could redo the front grill to better proportions, replace the hood and doors hinged with better prototypical units and review the track widths front and back on these cars. They did this type of revamping on some cars, why not go through them as they re-release them? It’s not like they would have to retool the whole car. This one looks pretty good as I remember the actual magazine car but a little plus…
