The things that we don't remember come out in those photos. Two things I thought about, first the family walking on the square, almost directly across the site where the German soldier lay. Does anyone appreciate that fact? Second, the American Flag draped on the cliff, adjacent to the destroyed bunkers. I'd say, that for all intents and purposes, that Flag is still there.

Wonderful photography to get the registrations that close.
