First Photos Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari 312 T2 Niki Lauda

With the success of the movie RUSH you knew it was a matter of time before we saw replicas featuring cars from the legends of the likes of Niki Lauda. The Hot Wheels Elite team released a few pre-production photos of their upcoming Ferrari 312 T2 form the 1976 Montecarlo Grand Prix. I’m liking what I see. Model is expected to be on shelves in Q4 2014.

About the Ferrari 312 T2… “he 312 T2 differed from the T version in that it had a slightly longer wheelbase and the periscope-style air intake was replaced with a NACA duct on either side of the cockpit to channel air to the inlet tracts. Featuring beautifully balanced engine and chassis and the usual transverse gearbox, in 1976 the 312 T2 enabled Lauda to win the Montecarlo GP.”

I'll get one for sure either way, but I think they are missing the opportunity to create a groundbreaking model - a full detail good quality 1:18 F1 car.
