Minichamps New Releases – Week 37, 2014

New this week from the Minichamps camp are four new 1:43 replicas. The feature is the 1988 Audi 200 Quattro Test Car – Trans AM. This one’s a limited edition of 1008 pieces. I love the eighties racers, a definite add for me if made available in 1:18 scale. Other new models include:

ASTON MARTIN RAPIDE S – BEZ/SCHUHBAUER/MARCH/KATSURA – 24H NÜRBURGRING 2013 L.E. 513 pcs.
BMW 3.5 CSL IMSA – HOBBS/PARSONS – 24H DAYTONA 1976 L.E. 1008 pcs.
BENTLEY CONTINENTAL SC – 1996 – RED METALLIC L.E. 1008 pcs.

About the Audi 200 Quattro Test Car… “Audi used the well-known five cylinder straight engine with a dual valve cylinder head. As a result this Audi was smaller in dimension and weaker performance wise than its V8 competitors. In 1988 Audi, after 30 years of absence, again participated in circuit racing with a factory team in the American Trans-AM series. The Audi 200 Quattro Trans-Am had a steal chassis. According to the regulations the length of the car, without bumpers and spoilers, must be equivalent to its regular street version. Width wise every team could be creative. As a result the 200 Quattro was over 2 meters wide and 4.9 meters long. Still as of today it is the biggest Audi racing car every built. The weight of the car was 1200 kg, which allowed to car to have a number of advantages. Audi was able to win 8 out of a total of 13 races. Although the car was completely built from scratch, Audi was competitive right from the beginning.”

Too bad that 200 Test car isn't 1:18...I could see that in your collection.

yup...confirmed.

Looks no better than the GTS, In my opinion...rumor is only the doors open. :?

Brilliant, Minichamps...make a diecast version that looks worse & costs more than the resin, & then seal half of it.

There's a clear seam line at the hood. I wonder where the "only doors open" rumor came from

EPIC FAIL! What a bunch of idiots! Who the f$$k is calling the shots there! They could hit a massive homerun with this model if they just gave it a solid effort! I would gladly pay more for a Minichamps model of old! :wall:
