Some good points Lucky13. I guess we need to be patience and play the wait and see game...
Everyone predicted the doom of the hobby. How Ferrari collectors are done collecting. Oh, my, what are we going to do now that the Barbie doll makers have the Ferrari license. I was part of that group of people and I was freaking out too, as my collection is predominantly Ferrari.
Ha ha history repeating itself.

I have 13 ferraris in my collection and only 5 are from Hot Wheels Elite, one of which I customized. The only ones that I actually really liked were the 458 GT2 and the 599XX. The rest are very meh

so the 458GT2, 599XX, 333SP....what are the other 2?

based on your comments about older AA, KY & Minichamps models, which you haven't been overly happy with, I'd say you're extremely difficult to please.

both substantially older models, especially the 288GTO.

That's like judging AA based on their 996 Carrera models, which were originally released as UT & Gate models....much like Hot Wheels Elite's 288GTO was Bburago's mold from the late '80's.

If I could find the Tamiya 288 GTO for a nice price, the Hot Wheels Elite would be gone in a second, although I do like its engine bay. As for the FXX, the "super" elite has a few nice added details, which I like it for. The body is the same though.

+1

Only model i ever wanted from Hot Wheels is the 458 GT2. And i liked the F12 but i didn't want to buy it because i can't put it next to the Giallo Orion Aventador made by Autoart. I didn't buy the Minichamps SLS Black for same reason. This two are on my wishlist, and looks like they only stay on it for a long time, maybe forever.

For me, the Elite series are on its own way. They look nice all together -if i want a modern Ferrari collection only, i would go this way than the overpriced Kyoshos and BBRs- and probably the best low cost models on the market. But they don't mix with Autoarts on the same shelf, in my opinion.

I hope the 'signature' models are gonna be good.

That's nuts! Their most recent releases are on par or exceed AUTOart. Then I'll mention price around $100-$120, well below the other brand.

anyone ever stop and think about this........

If Bburago models are a hit and better then the older Hot Wheels Elite, the older Hot Wheels Elite models(like the 288 GTO and F40) could drop in value in the used market.

.....or

visa versa. If they are worse and this is the only Ferrari's we will see for years then the Hot Wheels Elite might go up more!!
