Close-Up Look: Precision Collection 1966 Cadillac S High…

We brought the the Precision Miniatures relaunching as Precision Collection article back in mid January.  Today we bring you a close -up look at their first offering, 1:18 1966 Cadillac S and S 48 High Top Ambulance – Red and White.  We’re definitely impressed with the exterior and interior detail!  Look at the detail on the ambulance floor!  The photos will speak for themselves.  No word on price point or ETA, but stay with us for the latest news!

Automodello New 1:43 TVR Models

We haven’t heard from our friends at Automodello is some time, well the drought is now over…  Two new 1:43 TVR models are on tap for 2016, the first is 1976-1979 TVR Taimar.  Two editions are available, the ‘Standard’ and ‘Tribute’ trim.  The Standard trim features White exterior, a limited edition of 79 pieces.  A suggested retail of $119.95US.  The Tribute side will highlight six additional colours (Black, Brown, Blue Metallic, British Racing Green, Red and Yellow), each limited to 6 pieces per models.  Retail is suggested at $149.95US

The 1976-1979 TVR 3000M is also available in two limited editions, the ‘Standard’ Edition featuring Silver exterior is limited to 79 pieces.  Suggested retail is $119.95US.  The ‘Enthusiasts’ Edition is available in Blue or British Racing Green, each are a build of 15 per colour.  Suggested retail is set at $179.95 US.

Amalgam New 1:8 Ferrari F12tdf

The masters of 1:8 scale are back with a sweet rendition of the Ferrari F12tdf.  No access to boot of motor, but the doors open to reveal a stunning interior.  At a price point north of $7000US, one would expect access to the heart of the beast would be second nature, well its not!  Two colours will be offered Rosso and Giallo, a bespoke option is available too.  Model is presented as working sample, final approval is pending from Ferrari.  Someone has noted the brake calipers are off, production piece will correct this error.

Ignition Model Skyline 2000 GT-X (GC110)

Ignition Model gives us a first look at their upcoming 1:43 Skyline 2000 GT-X (GC110).  Model features massive suspension drop, classic Hayashi Street 14 inch wheels, and long thin dual muffler tips.  No arrival date is available at this time.

Make Up New Porsche 935 Jagermeister – Max Moritz

Make Up shows off their pre-production sample, 1:43 1977 World Championship car, the vehicle of Max Morizzuchimu who raced to “ADAC” Nurburgring 1000km.  The Jagermeister livery is looking as cool as ever.  Make Up will be offering pre-order reservations soon.  Model is is expected in late Q3 2016.

TopSpeed Models New Skins: 1:18 McLaren 675LT & Ford GT 2015

TopSpeed Models gives us a new colour for the McLaren and Ford GT.  The McLaren 675LT is presented in Chicane,  one word, STUNNING!  It flows perfectly with Orange calipers and matching interior seats.  The Ford GT steps up with Silver exterior and racing stripe decals.  Another beautiful example based on the initial colour of Liquid Blue.  Both are due this June.  Each is limited to 999 pieces.  Let’s hope the images presented are not all smoke and mirrors, as their first release, the 1:18 Acura NSX 2015 is receiving some mediocre reviews.

About the McLaren 675LT…  “Announced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the 675LT is Lightweight evolution of the 650S and is powered by a variation of the M838T twin turbo V8 petrol engine, producing 675PS. The ‘675’ in the 675LT model name refers to the power output of 675 PS, following the naming scheme started by the McLaren 650S. The LT in the model name is a reference to the “Long Tail” 1997 McLaren F1 GT which was the final incarnation of the F1 road car built to comply with FIA homologation regulations for the 1997 F1 GTR. The 675LT makes use of single-piece carbon fiber monocell weighing 75 kg (165 lb), and carbon fiber use in the vehicle is increased in order to further minimize weight and increase rigidity. Top Speed Model has done extensive research with McLaren to produce a very detailed and astatically accurate model. This detailed 675LT model will be produced with the Chicane color exterior and a black and orange interior. ”

Brumm New Releases for February 2016

Looksmart New Releases Audi Concept and Pagani Huayra BC

Fans of 1:43 scale will gravitate to a few new unique pieces from the Looksmart brand.  The feature is the monster concept from Audi, the Audi TT Quattro Sport Concept.  This puppy generates 420-horsepower from a 2.0-liter, turbocharged engine – that’s 210 horsepower per liter folks!  The second of two is the Pagani Huayra BC, absolutely stunning!  The TT Concept is available now, while the Huayra BC is listed as coming soon.  Jeez Louise we’d love to get our hands on an 1:18 version of each!

About the Pagani Huayra BC…  “Fitted with an uprated V-12 powerplant, a new transmission, revised aerodynamics, and a race-inspired interior, the Huayra BC was named after Benny Caiola, one of the first Pagani customers, as well as a good friend of Horacio. So, while the Zonda F was dedicated to Formula One ace Juan Manuel Fangio, the Huayra BC was developed in honor of Caiola, who owned several Zondas, including a Zonda F, which was regularly driven by Horacio himself.  The Huayra BC is set to make its global debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March”

First Look: Looksmart Ferrari F60 America

We featured the same model earlier this week without the driver behind the wheel.  Today AUTOart unveiled the1:18 diecast Honda RA272 F1 Grand Prix Mexico 1965, Richie Ginther #11 car with driver figure fitted.  Model is a limited edition piece of 2000 worldwide.

One Model Ltd. Announces LB Performance R35

If you are a fan of the LB Performance cars the latest effort from One Model Ltd. might be right down your alley.  The 1:18 and 1:43 LB Performance (Nissan) R35 is now in the works.  Early prototypes reveal a nicely detailed exterior with the signature fender flares intact!  No confirmed ship date, but we suspect late Q2 2016 arrival.

Kyosho New “Samurai” Series Mazda Roadster

Kyosho unveils their latest Samurai Series, the Mazda Roadster.   The 1:18 scale replica is manufactured in resin and sealed.  Two colours will be initially released, Red and White.  Note photos are of prototype hand-samples, production version may differ slightly.  Suggested retail is $199US, models should be on shelves sometime in April 2016.

One Model S2000 J’s Racing Street Version

One Model Ltd. unveiled their prototype 1:18 S2000 J’s Racing Street Version.  Model is a little over the top for us, but we’re sure is will appeal to the Asian JDM crowed.  Model is sealed and completed in resin.  There is no conclusive release date, One Model states as coming soon!

Bbruago Unveils New Colours 1:43 LaFerrari/458 Speciale

Two new colours have been added to the 1:43 Ferrari Signature Series line by Bbrurago.  The LaFerrari can be found in a gorgeous white and black combo, while the 458 Speciale is showing pride in yellow with black stripes! High detail and paint quality will ship an acrylic box.  Let’s hope they work on the ride stance somewhat!  These pieces will be on shelves soon.

KK Scale New Mercedes-Benz S123 T Model

We’ve fans of European wagons, I guess KK Scale is too!  Their latest effort is the 1:18 diecast Mercedes-Benz S123 T Model.  Two colours will be issued, Blue Metallic as featured and Red.  ETA is expected to be March/April 2016.

About the Mercedes-Benz S123 T Model…  “The W123T (the correct name is S123, S for Station Wagon) was produced 1978 to 1986. For the first time the “Mercedes amongst station wagons” was introduced in fall 1977. Despite extreme surcharges of around 5,000 mark against the already not-cheap sedans, the new variant was well accepted in public. Delivery times of up to two years in 1978 were not unusual. It was built in Bremen same as later also the Mercedes 190 (W201).

The S123 was exactly same length of the sedan, unlike the current models, and thus promoted the Stuttgart also. The difference was just in the other boot concept; the 45 degree sloped rear window made equally clear that this Mercedes wanted to be more leisure than craftsmen car. A level control was standard from the beginning.
The new body variant were built initially as 230 T, 250 T and 280 TE and 240 TD and 300 TD. In 1980 came the 200 T, 230 TE and 300 TD turbo-diesel. For all models alloy wheels were possible to be ordered as an option, only the 280 TE and 300 TD turbo-diesel contributed to 1982 headlights in rectangular design. There were no entirely steel bumpers for this car possible.”

ACME New 1968 Pontiac Firebird – Orange or White

There’s some new hotness in classic muscle cars, ACME’s new 1:18 1968 Pontiac Firebird should be arriving on shelves sometime in May 2016.  The two colours are officially called Carnival Red and Cameo Ivory.  Both feature vinyl roof-top.  Either or would make a great addition to your collection.  Retail is suggested at $134.95US.  Production is limited to around 400 pieces each.

First Look: AUTOart 1:12 Lambo Huracan LP610-4 – Matt Yellow

If you like all things Huracan how about the upcoming 1:12 scale AUTOart Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4?  There latest effort in 1:12 shows the Matt Yellow exterior with opening bits.  A notch above there 1:12 Pagani Huayra, which doesn’t allow access to front and rear compartments.  Arrival should be in late Q2 2016.

Biante is back with some muscle.  Our feature model is the 1:18 Ford XA Falcon GT Hardtop – 1973 Australian Manufacturers Championship Round 1, driver Allan Moffat.  Also after a long absence, scale 1:64 is making an appearance once again.  Two new models are schedule for Q2 2016.  They include the Ford XY Falcon GTHO Phase III in Yellow Glow and Electric Blue.  Other new models include:

First Look: Kyosho New Toyota Allion

Kyosho has the new 1:43 Toyota Allion arriving soon.  Model will be available in four colours, Early Black, Early White, Late Silver, and Dark Blue Mica.  The Toyota Allion is diecast and sealed.  I’m not sure what markets the models appeal to, most likely a dealer exclusive or home land pride.

New Skin BBR 1:12 Ferrari LaFerrari – Green

First Look: TSM McLaren P1-GTR 2015 Test Car

TrueScale Miniatures gives us a first look at their upcoming McLaren P1-GTR 2015 Test Car.  Photos depict the sinister McLaren in both 1:18 and 1:43 scale.  This piece would be a welcomed addition to any collection, one that will definitely not be reproduced anytime soon.  No ETA is available as of today.

GMP New 1934 Blown Altered Nitro Coupe!

I can’t remember the last time I used nitro in a sentence, but announcing GMP’s latest effort, the 1:18 1934 Blown Altered Nitro Coupe is perfect timing!  Model features exceptional detail inside and out, right down to the solid driveshaft!  Exterior Red Metallic paint is enhanced with flames.  So cool!  No street date yet, but we suspect early Q2 2016 release.

First Look: Pocher 1:8 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing”

We have the first look at the Pocher 1:8 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” model kit. If you’re not familiar with the brand, Pocher models kits are a DIY project, you the end-user put the model together from scratch.  Each part is nicely detailed, this particular kit consists of 1300 parts.  A first for Pocher, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing” will feature real working headlights and interior light, even the taillights work!  The interior also features working steering and folding down steering wheel.  Impressive to say the least!  Model should be on shelves sometime in  Q2 2016.

Other Pocher kits soon to be released are the 1:8 models in the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 – Giallo Midas (Pearl Effect)  and Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 – Rosso Mars (Metallic Red).

Tecnomodel New Skins McLaren 675LT 2015

Tecnomodel today has announced four new colours for the stunning McLaren 675LT. Wheels and wheel colour options are mixed too!  Our feature is presented in the lovely  Tarocco Orange Metal exterior with Grey/Alcantara effect inside. Silver wheels are mated to Orange calipers.  Other new colours include:

BBR New Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione Le Mans 1966

BBR is back with another race version of the 1:18 Ferrari 275 GTB.  This time we see the  Competizione Le Mans 1966, #26.  This is the first time a production 1:18 replica has been issued of this particular car, only 150 will be issued.  Retail is suggested at 339 Euro.

About the Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione…  “In 1965 Ferrari made a new race version of 275 GTB Competizione to replace the winning 250 GTO which was already at its last step of development, in the International Championship race for GT Manufacturers, reserved to the Gran Turismo and where there were a big competition fight Cobra-Ferrari.

During his sporting career this car obtained numerous successes. Primarily those of the class achieved in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This  race was won three times consecutively in 1965, 1966 and 1967. In addition it won  in its class at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1969 and was able to win the class titles in the race of the length of 1000 km as Monza (1966, 1967), Spa-Francorchamps (1969) and Nurburgring (1966).”

AutoCult New Models for March 2016

After many articles featuring only 1:43 scale, AutoCult Models stirs the pot with their first foray into 1:18 scale.  Their first model will feature the unique and somewhat unusual BMW 507 Raymond Loewy.  New model in 1:43 scale are: Hanomag L28 Gruppenkraftwagen, Ford Thames 400E Pritschenwagen , Hunt House Car, and BMW 328 Kamm-Coupé.  Enjoy!

About the BMW 507 Raymond Loewy…  “or many people the BMW 507 of the year 1956 is still one of the most beautiful passenger cars of the whole automobile history. Its designer, the German  Albrecht Graf Görtz, was living in the USA at the time, and he learned his trade in the office of the legendary US star designer Raymond Fernand Loewy. Loewy created the symbol of Shell – the Shell mussel – and therefore he was leaving worldwide a lasting impression in the history.  Besides industrial projects, Loewy also created automobile chassis, mainly for the US manufacturer, Studebaker.  After the end of the Second World War, the young Albrecht Graf Görtz came to work in his design office and worked there until 1953.  Four years later, Lowey placed an order in Munich for a 507 without chassis. Looksmart/MR Collection Announce the Ferrari 488 Spider

The latest Ferrari to be represented in scale is the Ferrari 488 Spider.  The 1:43 scale model will be delivered by Looksmart , while the 1:18 version will come from MR Collection.  Looksmart will be limited to 49 pieces each, and MR Collection only 25.  The following colours will be initially released.  Both models will feature removable hard-top.

Make Up Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder

Make Up heats up things with their new 1:18 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder.  Images show the car in pre-production package.  The Lambo’s exterior is completed in a light refreshing blue with black wheels.  Interior is highly detailed too.  No ETA on the model as of yet.  Make Up will also issue the Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 in 1:43 and 1:18 scale, stay tuned!

Amalgam New Ferraris and McLaren P1 GTR

The 8th wonder of the scale model world, Amalgam is back with three new models in their assortment for 2016.  The modern 1:8 Ferrari 488 GTB Spider is looking sexy is light pearl blue, while the 1:8 Ferrari 288 GTO is looking better in the traditional Ferrari red!  Good god, look at that engine detail!!  Both models are limited to 199 pieces.  Race fans will like the 1:8 McLaren P1 GTR.  The detail is superb and the cockpit execution is second to none.  Pricing for these models start at a little of $7000US.  Bespoke is also available for a fee, contact Amalgam for more details.

Ferrari 488 GTB…  “The 488 Spider arrived only six months after the GTB was first introduced, and is the most powerful drop-top ever to come out of Maranello.  The Spider is a 203mph, 661bhp, turbo super-cabrio. Unveiled in Frankfurt, Maranello’s drop-top V8 will do 0-62mph in three seconds and reach 124mph in 8.7 seconds.”

First Look: Auto World 2016 Chevy Camaro SS

Wow, Camaro fans will surely gravitate to Auto World’s new 1:18 scale diecast 2016 Chevy Camaro SS.  Based on the initial hand-sample images the attention to detail is extremely good!  Engine detail along with the nice hood hinge work is nicely executed.  Interior and exterior detail follow suit.  Model is expected sometime in 2016.  We can definitely say with confidence, this will be one, if not the best 1:18 replica available.

MR Collection New Chameleon Series

MR Collection introduces a new Chameleon Series of models for 2016.  The Chameleon Series are produced with a special and exclusive paint that gives the exterior of each piece outstanding reflection, and varies the hue of the paint depending on your viewing angle.  As you can see each pieces is dressed with carbon fibre base, made in house, and each is signed by  Mr. Egidio Reali personally.  The first of the series shows the 1:18 Lamborghini Huracán Spyder LP 610-4.  Retail on this model is suggested at 659 Euro, definitely not in everyone’s price range.

CMR New BMW 635 CSI #62 – CK Modelcar Exclusive!

CMR is entering the race/livery forum, their latest effort is the 1:18 BMW 635 CSI #62. Car is based on the Australian Touring Car Championship Winner 1984, with drivers Driver: D. Hulme and Prinz v. Bayern.  Model is sold exclusively through CK Modelcars, and will be available for sale by the middle of February.  Replica is sealed and constructed of resin.  A set of “Tabacco JPS” decals are included with the package, they are not installed to to tobacco advertising regulations. Retail is suggested at 99.95 Euro.

First Look: AUTOart New Race C7R Corvette / Alfa Romeo 4C

AUTOart released official production images of the new Chevrolet Corvette C7R.  The car is taken from the 2015 Le Mans 24hrs GTLM, #64 class winner.  Featured additions include the Daytona 24hrs GTLM 2015 ,WINNER #3, and 3rd position #4 car.  It’s a crying shame the car is sealed except for the doors.

New skins are now available for the Alfa Romeo 4C, Gloss White and Gloss Black are scheduled for early Q1 2016.  Both models come from AUTOart’s Composite series of models.

First Look: OttOmobile Mercedes-Benz AMG Hammer

Considered one of the finest sport sedans ever created, the Mercedes-Benz AMG Hammer chartered untouched waters in its segment.  The 1:18 replica is upcoming from the OttOmobile brand in early 2016.  As always model is manufactured in resin and sealed.

About the Hammer…  “The release of the AMG Hammer sedan in 1986, based on the W124 E-Class, took AMG’s performance modifications for a fast mid-sized sedan to a new level.  AMG made the world’s fastest passenger sedan at the time, nicknamed the Hammer, by squeezing Mercedes 5.6-litre V8 tuned by AMG to 360 hp into a mid-sized sedan. It was very aggressive for the era, with 32-valve cylinder heads and twin camshafts, and said to be faster than the Lamborghini Countach from 60 to 120 mph.  Later models were even more powerful and introduced the 17-inch AMG Aero 1 Hammer wheels. 1986 was also the year Mercedes introduced the 560 M117 engine. This provided yet another opportunity for customers to order the largest AMG displacement available at the time, the 6L 100 mm bore SOHC or DOHC engines available for both the W126 coupe and sedans.”

La Mini Miniera New Coriasco 600 Multipla Pickup

La Mini Miniera is back with a new 1:18 Coriasco 600 Multipla Pickup.  Model will premiere at the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg starting next week! This marks the first time the Coriasco 600 Multipla will be covered in scale.  The truck is actually made from the body of the Turin Coriasco.  It was beloved by owners because of its cost-effectiveness and practicality.  I see some Volkswagen in there!

GreenLight Collectibles New “Polished Metal Edition”

GreenLight Collectibles is putting the finishing touching on a series of models called ‘Polished Metal Edition’.  The first to grace the badge, and rightly so, if the 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor.  The car was made famous from the movie Gone In Sixty Seconds.  The Ford Mustang Eleanor is 1:18 scale and will be produced in limited numbers. We have no confirmation of release date, but we suspect early Q2 2016.  Enjoy!

About the Maserati Mistral Coupe…  “The car was presented on the Torino car show, the name Mistral was officially used only from 1966 on wards. Responsible for this was the French Maserati distributor Colonel John Simone. The name derives from a wind in the valley of Rhône. This was the foundation of naming Maserati cars after winds until the 1990s.

The batch production started in spring of 1964 and ended in 1970. In 6 years 828 coupes were built. The production process was complicated. Maserati produced the engine and chassis, while the body parts were supplied by the Torino based Carrozzeria Maggiora. A truck carried the Chassis from Maserati to Maggiora were both were combined. Afterwards it was brought to Modena, where the paint work as well as the windows and electronics were assembled. Finally the car was transported back to Maserati where the suspension, brakes, transmission and engine were mounted.”

About the Kohlruss Käfer…  “Crossbreeding the Beetle.  Vienna in the short post-war period: The body work company of Hans Kohlruss came to the conclusion to create a specially constructed passenger car from the variety of the remaining VW type 82, a Kübelwagen with a widely available Steyr 50 or Steyr 55 – known in popular parlance as the Steyr Baby. This combination was therefore possible, as both vehicles had nearly the same wheel base, and the chassis and engine of VW usually could be used.

However the car body was damaged, but the car bodies of the Steyr-vehicle could mostly be used, as most vehicles had a technical breakdown in engine or transmission. But this mixture caused a problem as the VW-engine was in the rear and the Steyr Baby had its motor under the front bonnet. As a solution, Hans Kohlruss was giving the VW-engine an additional blower under the new Steyr skin. The car body constructor from Vienna was creating a vehicle in the late 1940s and early 1950s, which was satisfying the needs of those people who were prepared to pay more money.”

KK Scale New 1:18 VW Käfer 1100 Cabriolet

KK Scale is back with a cheap and cheerful replica of the VW Käfer 1100 Cabriolet.  Model is sealed, and made of diecast metal.  Photo depicts the model in pre-production state.  The VW Käfer 1100 Cabriolet should be available by end of January through various European dealers.

About the VW Käfer 1100 Cabriolet…  “No Beetle Cabriolet ever was more beautiful than the delicate design by Hebmüller. A Volkswagen, a dream car! And for that time only 7500 DM.  The construction of the vehicles in the first half of the 20th century – Frame structures with screwed body – allowed independent coach builders, own structures to design based on existing series production vehicles.  In the re-awakening economy of the late 1940s the coach builder Hebmüller from the “Bergisches Land” offered Volkswagen his services. Hebmüller developed an elegant 2 + 2-seater cabriolet on beetle-base and received a production order of 696 vehicles in total that were officially sold by Volkswagen dealers.”

Kyosho New Diecast Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

Tecnomodel New Alfa Romeo Disco Volante by Carrozzeria Touring

Alfa Romeo may not be the most reliable marquee today, but one thing they can do right is design some truly inspiring cars, their latest concept the Disco Volante by Carrozzeria Touring is simply sex on wheels.  Tecnomodel’s replica is following suit with their 1:18 scale version.  Four colours will be initially offered, Silver/Red, Green/Maroon, Fuchsia/White, and Red/Red.  The car looks incredibly conformable in all four skins, that is definitely attributed to the gorgeous lines of the Disco Volante.  No word on ETA, but based on the attached photos it should be very soon!

Make Up Porsche 917/20 (Pink Pig) “Martini racing” LM 1971 #23

The pig has finally come to roast!  Make Up has completed work on their 1:43 Porsche 917/20 Pink Pig) “Martini Racing” LM #23 car that we reported on back in October 2015.  In typical Make Up fashion the model is top notch on all levels, no detail left untouched.  Make Up actually completed the project back in December, but the team did not like the final exterior colour, and so, the team tweaked the finish to what is presented here.  Well done!

Ignition Model Special Edition Nissan Auto Salon 2016

Japan’s largest custom car festival “Auto Salon 2016” will be held this upcoming January 15th – 17th.  The Nissan booth will showcase a limited edition Ignition Model 1:43 Fairlady Z (Z32) – White with LM GT-4 wheels.  Pretty neat!  If you can’t get to the show, the model will be released on Nissan’s online boutique as of January 19th.

About Ferrari 400 Superamerica…  “The 400 Superamerica was a two-seater sports car built by Ferrari from 1960 to 1964. It was produced in two series, tailored to the demands of the customer.  Were also built unique models, called Superfast II, III and IV. Soul Models Sample Ariel Atom V8

Another player in the sealed resin market is Soul Models.  Their first upcoming release is the exciting and unusual 1:18 Ariel Atom V8.  We believe a first in 1:18 scale!  Soul Models is committed to “new or non-existent models”, hence the Ariel Atom.  Each piece is hand made and hand painted.  Though their initial sample pics look decent, the car does look somewhat toy-like in appearance.  Let’s hope the final product improves and they stick to their guns, offering unique and non-existent specimens.

First Look: Top Marques New Maserati Merak

Top Marques is back with another classic design from the masters at Maserati, the 1:18 Merak, which will be launched in early 2016.  Two colours will be offered – blue, as featured, and Red.  Model execution looks decent for the most part, BUT, once again, we see the primitive and lifeless chrome work around the exterior windows.

Tecnomodel 1974 Aston Martin Lagonda Saloon  4-Doors

Tecnomodel is back with a classic 1:18 Aston Martin, the 4-door Lagonda Saloon.  The Lagonda Saloon will be offered in two colours: Metallic dark grey with Dark Red interior and Metallic Green with Cream interior.  Though for the most part the model looks the part, we need to point out the fake chrome trim around the glass work, it looks horrible!!  Second one in the last few weeks we’ve been turned off by such laziness.  Come on folks, there needs to be a better solution!?  The last model in question was the Lamborghini 350 GT by Classic Model Replicas (CMR).  Both colours of the Lagonda Saloon are limited editions of 80/100 respectively.

GT Spirit New 1:18 Audi RS5 Cabriolet

The team at GT Spirit has decided to release the convertible version of the popular Audi RS5.  Model will be on shelves some time in Q1 2016.  No future colours or production numbers have been issued at time of print.  Based on the Coupe release, there should be more colours coming!  We like the subtle Black on White combination anyway, should be a top seller for the brand.

OttOmobile New 1:18 Citroen M35

OttOmobile is first to announce a new model for 2016.  The 1:18 Citroen M35 is said to be released in early Q1.  No numbers on production run are available at this time.

About the Citroen M35…  “The Citroën M35 was a coupé derived from the Ami 8, and equipped with a Wankel engine and a hydropneumatic suspension. The bodies were produced by Heuliez from 1969 to 1971.  The longitudinally mounted rotary engine had a nominal capacity of 995 cc delivering 49 bhp (37 kW; 50 PS).  According to factory figures the car had a performance roughly on a level with that of a Morris 1300.  The engine was supplied by a company formed in 1967 by NSU and Citroën called Comotor.

The M35 was an experimental vehicle and was not officially sold – rather it was supplied to loyal Citroën customers to get their comments on the usability of the design. Many aspects of the M35 made it to regular production. The rotary engine was deemed satisfactory and a dual rotor version of it was used in the GS Birotor in 1974; the gearbox used in the M35 was the GS 1015’s gearbox (albeit with a normal shift pattern); certain suspension parts found their way into the GS line when it was introduced in 1970 and the seats that reclined just above the waist were found in none other than the SM.”

BBR New 1:18 Ferrari 330 TRI LM – Winner Le Mans 1962

BBR’s latest release is the 1:18 Ferrari 330 TRI LM, 1962 Le Mans winner.  Car is finished in classic Ferrari Red and features the #6 decal.  BBR will offer the model in standard form and premium version with display case.  This is a limited edition piece of 400.  Estimated time of arrival is April 2016.

About the Ferrari 330 TRI LM… “The 330 TR was a racing car produced by Ferrari in 1962 in a single copy. It is also known by two other unofficial names:330 TRI / LM and 330 TRI. The most important victory obtained by this car was in the race for which it was designed and built, that is the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1962, drove by Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien. The “TR 330″ was the last Ferrari with front-engine to win the famous French race.”

BBR is back with four new colour variants for the 1:18 Mansory Carbonado GT, though the colours aren’t as tactful as the others we reported on earlier this month. Kyosho New 1:43 Diecast Nissan Concept and Caravan

Two new diecast models in 1:43 scale will be coming in 2016 from the team at Kyosho. The feature is the super cool looking Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo. The car is considered the supercar of the future, it was designed by Nissan’s European division. The Concept is also featured in the PlayStation popular game, Gran Turismo 6. Three colours will be issued: Ink Blue, Gunmetal, and Ultimate Silver, all will hit shelves in early Q2 2016.

I’m not sure why the Nissan NV360 Caravan is being produced in diecast form. Is there really a need for a van replica? May be the item is popular in Japanese car culture? Nonetheless the Nissan NV360 Caravan will be released in Q1 2016. Three colours are on tap: Super Black, Brilliant White Pearl, and Blade Silver.

BBR Announces McLaren 675LT

Supercar fans may like the latest announcement from BBR, the McLaren 675LT is under development from their Concept 18 sister company. The car will launch using three colours from McLaren’s “Standard” pallet: Chicane, McLaren Orange, and Delta Red. Each is limited to 199 pieces worldwide. Pre-orders are being accepted now, no release date has been offered by BBR at this time. Retail is suggested at 208.50 Euro or $295CND.

About the McLaren 675LT… “The McLaren 675LT (where “LT” stands for Long Tail) is a lightweight, track-focused evolution of the McLaren 650S. As with the 650S, the 675LT makes use of single-piece carbon fibre monocell weighing 75 kg (165 lb), and carbon fibre use in the vehicle is increased in order to further minimise weight and increase rigidity. The car is powered by a variation of the M838T 3,799cc twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, producing 675 PS (496 kW; 666 hp) at 7100 rpm and 700 N•m (520 lbf•ft) at 5500 rpm.”

About the Ford Escort II RS… “The introduction of the Escort II was aimed mainly for motorsports. Ford used it as a gimmick and did not register the II as a new vehicle, but only as modified bodywork of the existing model. This eliminated the need to have to build a new certified series. Due to the similarity of the structure of the two Escort generations all Motorsport parts of an old vehicle could be transferred to the new body without modification. Also this was modified with an efficient change to the drive system to introduce a hammer modified transmission, however, the battery could remain in the engine compartment. The engine was mounted at an angle. A version called RS1800 with the Cosworth motor found its way into the price lists only in Great Britain. Only 109 models of this type were produced. Of these, there are far more replicas than originals today. Ford was apprehensive that the tightening of the motorsport regulations would offer less modification options, and therefore created a model that only existed on paper and the Escort RS was never produced. This refers to the RS1800 with all parts used in motor sports, like the rear axle with trailing arms suspension and Panhard rod, rear disc brakes, ZF five-speed gearbox and engine modifications. Although Ford had never manufactured such a vehicle, they could prove based on all the spare parts sold, that a sufficiently large number of these vehicles had been built and was awarded the Sport approval for this fictitious vehicle. All further motorsport results were then achieved depending on the perspective – either with extensive modifications RS1800 or with RS production car series, which were identical”

BBR New Ferrari LaFerrari “Open” & LaFerrari Green Monster!

If I’m not mistaken, this is first for BBR in resin form, access to internal segments of a model, since their departure from diecast material. The 1:18 LaFerrari will allow collectors access to a highly detailed motor. Each tiny detail is represented such as: electric wires, screws in carbon fiber, electronic centers, and more. Model is limited to 99 pieces worldwide. Each piece ships with leatherette base and display case.

Something truly outside of the box is the new Green LaFerrari with Carbon Fibre roof. Model is limited to 32 pieces. Both replicas will be shipping in late January 2016. Please contact BBR for more details.

GMP New Chevrolet Nova Street and Ford Fairlane Drag

Well, news of two two pure muscle designs just came our way from the GMP brand. The feature sees the stunning 1:18 diecast 1970 Chevrolet Nova from GMP’s Street Fighter Overkill series. BBR announces the 1:18 scale Ferrari F60 America. The 730 horsepower, $2.5 million roofless sport car is a salute to freedom! Pre-orders are being accepted now. Exoto: Le Mans | The Movie by Steve McQueen

Exoto unveils two skinned Porsche 910-6’s as dressed in the classic ‘Le Mans’ starring Steve McQueen. The Porsche #60 and #39 will be released in 1:18. Both are stated as available soon, we suspect an early 2016 release.

About the movie… “Released in June 1971 and given a G rating, the film is still popular today among race fans, as it is a relatively accurate depiction of the era. It features lots of racing but very little dialogue (there is brief dialogue approximately 6 minutes into the film, then the PA announcer at 11 minutes, more PA announcements at 14 minutes, with McQueen’s first dialogue at 36 minutes into the film). Due to this, and to the American market’s obliviousness towards the Le Mans 24-hour race and foreign auto racing in general, it was a flop at the box office in the United States. It followed in the wake of the similar but much more successful 1966 film Grand Prix (for which McQueen had turned down the starring role, given afterwards to James Garner).”

First Look: AUTOart Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 – Giallo Midas

First images of the Giallo Midas or Yellow Pearl Metallic have been released by AUTOart. As the colour selection grows it makes it more challenging on what colour combination to side on. Norev New Releases for December 2015

Finally we have a diecast version of the Volkswagen MKIII Golf GTI! My first car was a Flash Red 8v GTI, which then progressed to the famous MKIII VR6 with aftermarket supercharger kit in Windsor Blue. The Norev replica features the European version of the 1996 GTI in Black Metallic. This one is definite must have! Two other models are on tap, the 1:18 Renault 30 TS 1978 in Ardoise Blue metallic and 1:43 Citroën DS3 WRC Rallye de France 2013, driven by Loeb and Elena.

GreenLight Collectibles New Charger and Elvis Cadillac

News from the GreenLight Collectibles camp are three new additions to the 1:18 assortment. The first is a familiar face, the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona Custom. Two new colours will be offered, Blue with White rear wing and Black with Red rear wing. This model is 100% sealed. The second model is the 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Special – Elvis Presley (1935-77) – Pink Cadillac. If Pink was good enough for the king its good enough for you. No release date is available, but we suspect very early 2016 shelf date!

BBR Ferrari 458 Italia LM GTE PRO Le Mans 2015

New from BBR are hand-sample photos of their upcoming 1:18 Ferrari 458 Italia LM GTE PRO Le Mans 2015 Team AF Corse. The #51 and #71 cars will be produced in limited quantities. Premium versions of both models will also be offered with display case. Released date is scheduled for early 2016.

About the 458 GT2 … “The 458 GT2 is an Italian racing car built by Ferrari to compete in endurance races in the GTE. In the FIA World Endurance Championship the cr has won three titles and many Constructors GT laurels Team GTE PRO with the team AF Corse, winning consecutively in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Production is estimated at 200 worldwide. The model will also come autographed by the driver Paul Goldsmith, signature will be set across hood.. Retail on this piece is suggested at $124.95US.
