Another new release from the OttOmobile team is announced this week. Today we present the 1:18 scale Renault Vel Satis. Don’t know much about the car in general, but there needs to be a reason why the Renault Vel Satis is chosen to the represented in scale form. Please tell us? No details on production numbers or release date other than model will be available by the end of 2015.
I can easily think of 100 more deserving subjects for 1:18th scale than this. Even Otto mention the difference of opinion that exists in relation to the Vel Satis on their Facebook page. Some bad cars are worthy of replication because they are so bad.
This is bad because of the sheer blandness of the original, and unworthy of a scale replica. C’mon Otto – don’t lose the plot!
This is what Ottomobile is about, recreating obscure cars that no one else would ever bother with and this is why I have a fair few of otto’s models in my collection so far . I hope they keep doing this for their lifetime . If I had one wish is that they would do scale models of japanese cars even though I see Nissan has appeared on their collection line up
