REVIEW: AUTOart Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera LP570-4

The latest model to arrive is the AUTOart Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera LP570-4.  I held out for the Red or Rosso Andromeda as I believed it fit the car well and was a shade of red I do not presently share with any Lamborghini or for that matter any car in my collection to date.  I’m glad I did as it does look the part!

The outside is clean and beautiful.  There are no glaring issues with this model at all when looking at fit and finish.  Shutlines are excellent, but I would note the panel gap on the front right side hood is slightly larger than I would like, seems the alignment is off a tad.  The biggest beef I have with this model’s exterior would be the front fascia when comparing to the 1:1.  The angles and nose depth don’t represent Superleggera LP570-4 well, AUTOart got it wrong.  Was this a cost-cutting measure by AUTOart or an oversight, I say cost-cutting! Why, the basic mould for the car is there, what usually requires tweaking for a variant within the platform is the front and rear, and sometimes a few aerodynamics tweaks to the body panels.   When expecting a premium $$ a blatant oversight like this in my opinion is unacceptable.  Carbon fibre work front and rear are good but it could have has a little more depth.  I’ve seen better.

Wheels are always a strong point with AUTOart and the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera makes no exception.  A beautifully executed wheel, rotor, and caliper round out a very impressive exterior.  Lambo’s are all about being aggressive and fast, the monster brake calipers front and rear just add to the theme, I like it!

The motor is a typical AUTOart, which is usually executed well.  The hood features a strut to keep everything in a fixed position.  The front storage is nicely executed as well, full carpeting lining; dual strut support adds a good level of realism to the model.  Well done AUTOart!  The undercarriage detail is there but no depth like other models I have reviewed.  At this price point, I think we deserve a little bit more.

The Interior is excellent.  Good quality materials all around, with very nice fine detailing on the dash and centre console that adds to the realism.  AUTOart managed to mimic the carbon fibre on the doors and other elements within the interior too.  Also notice the racing stripes on the seats that flow onto the carpeting, very cool detail.

I love my exotics so this one is a must for me.  Other than the obvious fascia blunder this is a very very good model.  The true Lamborghini enthusiast might find this too much too shallow and I don’t blame you.  If you can let it slide I’d get one.  Enjoy the pics!

The wrong front was just a mistake, not a fact of cost cutting since the front is different from the LP560 model plus they do change it for the super trofeo stradale after they noticed it was wrong on the Superleggera

With the above statement ‘different from the LP560 model plus they do change it for the super trofeo stradale after they noticed it was wrong on the Superleggera’ you just proved my point of cost cutting decision, if they, AUTOart knew there was an error why would they not fix in the upcoming Super Trofeo Stradale?

      • Lambo says:

They made the LP570 Superleggera but when the production version were ready and released people complained the front was wrong, people told it to AA and they decided to make a new mold for the Stradale, if they want do do cost cutting there’s no need to change the front because just like the Superleggera it will sell with or without a new front front.

I do agree with that statement, case in point I bought the above model. I do disagree on the other hand, if AUTOart knows there is a blatant error as noted it should be corrected, especially when a model is yet to be put into production.
