The Noble M600 is my favourite modern super(hyper?)car simply because it’s so analogue and old fashioned. A Yamaha V8 with two giant turbos delivering up to 650 ponies in a package that weighs a paltry 1200 kg. Proper manual gearbox? Check. Traction control that can be switched off? Check. Three stage power adjustment knob? Check! Oh and it’ll do 225 mph…
Understandably, I was a little annoyed that to this day no one made a Noble M600 in scale format. Automodello come to the rescue with their 1:43 scale replica and initial impressions are of quality, as is usually the case with the brand. It comes mounted on a simple black base with the car’s name printed, and a clear acrylic cover to keep the dust away. The Baby Blue paint is very nice and suits the car quite well. It also comes in Carbon Black and Midas Orange, should you wish to explore other options. The paint application is smooth and flawless. The decals and emblems are applied neatly and are absolutely tiny.
The model has 14 (!) perforated (!!) grilles all over, which I thought was most impressive. Some 1/18 models don’t have that many. In fact, the detail is fine and sufficiently abundant on the exterior. The roof antenna is slender, the windows are superb and have sharply defined black edges. The headlights and taillights are as good as the scale allows them to be, and the wiper looks great as well.
My favourite part of the model is the wheels. Although the tires are unbranded, the rims look amazing, and behind them you get photo-etched brake discs, which are patterned, with sexy yellow calipers with “Noble” decals on them. The rim size is big enough, and the stance is awesome, with both rollers tucked in underneath those wheelarches.
Unfortunately you won’t see the interior unless you shine a torch inside, and if you do, you’ll see that it is more than sufficiently detailed. The engine is okay, with some colour coding and an emblem, but no wires.
So is it worth adding? If you’re a fan of the brand, and are an avid supercar collector, you need this one to sit alongside your Ferraris and Lamborghinis. It is really a great looking model, with nice paint, a good stance, and as is always the case with Automodello, great detail.
Good review Wes. The model looks 10 times better than it did in the pre-production samples. Manufacturers need to be careful on what images this post to social media and what not, before the race starts it could be over is some cases…
I don’t know why, but it seems that you have a similar taste of cars to me. Honestly, the fact that many manufacturers don’t make cars like these makes me really sad. One of the most underrated cars of all time. Just look at it. It’s “classic”, but still has a high performance. And so lightweight. Not many brands out there can get their cars under or even touch the 1200-kg-mark on the scale. And you don’t see these driving around very often, unlike many Ferraris/Lamborghinis/Audis.
Honestly, there are too many cars that I like but weren’t made in 1:18 scale, but other scales. Manufacturers seems to avoid “obscure” cars, or even brands.
Very good model of a great car. How I wish it were made in 1:18 scale. Is Automodello planning a 1:18 scale of this car? Do you know any one who makes a 1:18 model of a Noble (diecast or resin)? Are there any plans from any model manufacturer to do so?
