My love hate relationship grows with the BBR brand.  My latest entry, and second resin model overall is the 1:18 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.  I’ve fallen in love with this car over the last year or so.  Every article you read, every TV and online vehicle highly praises the car.  And why not, she’s gorgeous from every angle and has the performance to back up the beauty.  The final calling that persuaded me to purchase this car in scale was the recent airing of The Grand Tour.  In a nut shell when all was said and done, Mr Jeremy Clarkson drove his demo car to the Alfa Romeo dealership to purchase one.  If you haven’t seen the episode I highly recommend it!  So how did BBR do this car justice in scale…

If you know BBR they have more variants of any particular model than you can shake a stick at!  I originally pre-ordered the model in the latest variant, Red with Silver wheels.  After a little tug of war with my brain I wanted the gun-metal finish on the wheels.  Luck was on my side, I found one in Red with gun-metal finished wheels and Red calipers.  Win, win.  This particular model came with a full leather base and display cover; all in all it set me back roughly $279US.

From the exterior view the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is simply gorgeous.  BBR’s paint quality and application is some of the best I’ve seen in scale.  All carbon fibre work is excellent too.  Since the BBR model is crafted in resin and sealed, panel gaps and shutlines are excellent.  They also do a great job in defining the panel lines, something other resin companies take a little too lightly.

Some of the highlights from the exterior are the perforated grilles found on the front fenders and hood.  I also like the recessed Alfa logo found on each fender.  It is produced with quality and care.

The front of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is solid and on point.  BBR attention to detail is second to none in resin platform.  The layers/depth of the lower section are beautifully defined and mirror the original car nicely.  Headlight detail is very good and application is clean within the body work.

The rear is much like the front, excellent craftsmanship and fit and finish.  The quad chrome pipes stand out the most with their nice chrome finish and large size. Yum!

One of my favourite elements of the model is the wheels.  I love the gun-metal look mated to the carbon/ceramic rotors.  The icing on the cake is the Red calipers that closely match the exterior paint.  I also like to point out the excellent finish work on the Black wheel lining, just super!

Inside the interior of my specimen is finished in all Black/Gray.  There is some carbon fibre detailing, which includes the seat-backs, centre console, steering wheel, and dash elements.  My car also sports the manual transmission, another bonus!  There is no flocking/carpeting, and front seat-belts are available with metal buckles.  The entire package works well and fit and finish is solid throughout.

BBR’s rendition of Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is just fabulous.  I really can’t find anything wrong with it.  If there was one fault, I wish it was diecast metal with opening bits, but that isn’t the case with BBR.  So I will live with something in scale rather than nothing.  BBR’s typically run $100-$120 more than the average priced resin piece, though their execution is far from average.  This is the second resin model as in as many months, they are two for two so far so far.  No shamrocks and  shenanigans here, this one comes highly recommended.  Well done BBR.  Enjoy the pics!
