One of my personal favorites, and most long awaited models ever, was the BMW 1M Coupe. The dream officially became reality in replica form back in October 2014. The team from GT Spirit were the first manufacturer to bring forth this beautiful specimen, which today is highly sought after in any skin. This limited edition model from BMW was released in low production numbers worldwide. I don’t believe Canada received more than 300, all of which were issued in three colours: Valencia Orange, Alpine White and Black Sapphire. The BMW 1M Coupe is the first M Coupe that is dominated by a muscular look like no other M series car to date. Along with being an M car it must perform, and it does. The car is mated to an in-line 6-cyl (2979cc), twin turbo engine. Max power is stated as 335bhp @ 5900rpm and torque 369lb ft @ 1500-4500rpm. Top speed is limited to 155mph. That’s a lot of punch and very tuneable punch for a very aggressive price point (less than $50,000CND).
There is no point is reviewing the DG Diecast Special edition piece in detail again as it is basically the same as the hobby version except for some specific details which I will elaborate on now. For my views on this piece, please see the review written back in October 2015 HERE.
What I will tell you is the model is a limited edition piece exclusive to DG Diecast, manufactured for them by the well know brand GT Spirit. Only 504 pieces will be issued world wide. The exclusive Alpine White exterior is mated to a rich black interior. The exterior also sees the gorgeous OEM 19″ wheels coated in black, that definitely highlight the massive cross-drilled rotors and calipers. I must say seeing this model in person was quite the surprise, absolutely stunning, and near perfect execution!
