Sun Star is back with a slew of new models. They may not be the best of the best and their execution is some what suspect at times, but their price point is attractive and their subject matter is diverse to say the least. Our favorite from the bunch are the two Lancia Delta Integrale’s, #11 D.Cerrato/G.Vasino-Rallye Monte-Carlo 1989 and Lancia Delta Integrale 16V – #1 D.Auriol/B.Occelli-2nd Tour de Corse – Rallye de France 1991. All new models should be on shelves by the end of June. Complete list of new models is provided below.

Sun Star is a very mixed bag. I’ve had wonderful ones at incredible prices, but I’ve also had ones with mismatched pieces, unpainted bits – honestly, consistently bad or consistently good, but not inconsistently either!
Wouldn’t mind that old Benz though…
The two Delta rally subjects highlight a stark problem with Sunstar. Both are intended to replicate sealed surface (tarmac) events, but the ride height is generic – being more suited to rough surface events such as the Acropolis or Safari rallies. I will not be tempted by either model, even though I intend to get hold of a nice Lancia Delta rally model or two…..
