Tecnomodel will be issuing a limited production of the Mercedes 300 SEL/AMG. The replica will address two street colours and three race/livery versions. Scaled in 1:18, these sealed resin pieces will be available soon. If we get history correct, most of these we released by AUTOart back in the day. Full diecast with opening bits. Yum!

These 300 SEL represents the US version with side marker vs AA that did the European version. And they are worth serious money these days!
considering you could get one at retail price just few years ago these Autoart classic mercs have really jumped in value. I paid just slightly over $100 for 300SEL and W124. Should have bought more or at least got all the different colour variations.
I have the Minichamps version of the race SEL, and apart from one or two aspects, I consider it good enough. I can’t see why we need repeats of a car which finished second in one race, and was uncompetitive in the others. A really good model of the car which beat the AMG in the 1971 Spa 24 hours event would be more desirable – the Ford Capri RS2600. The resin Minichamps version is a joke, and the recent sealed diecasts are not much better, even if they are a lot cheaper……
I’ve just noticed something else. Are these sealed resin or fully opening? The information text suggests both…
