1973 Porsche 911 RSR 24H of Daytona Sunoco #6

So, I have previously acquired the GT Spirit version of this model. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49970756727_e039d242ed_c.jpg IMG_0987[1] by Jim Forte , on Flickr And now I understand that Solido is going to release one, as well? https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49969985208_9d620ff300_c.jp...

Re: Modelissimo cancelled purchases at current environment

I've got an order in at AutoArt Spares, and it is taking longer than usual. Hadn't thought about the fact that they might just not be shipping right now. You should check with them. Service to North America depending on the carrier is offline at the moment. Got a message from them, shipping will be...

Re: Sun Star Mercury Cougar Racing-#42

So, another never raced, "vintage" race car. Cool!

I do agree, though, that this SunStar mold does have some nice features. Wish they'd put a fuel filler someone on the back, even though the trunk doesn't open.

Re: Exoto parts ?

Just in case you reconsider, I just tried a couple of sockets on an Exoto 934 I have in my donor stack, and a 5mm worked on it quite nicely. I am going to assume that the 917 lug nuts were the same size (but no guarantees).

Re: Exoto parts ?

Hi - thanks - that is a great idea . Neither of these parts is a deal killer given the price of the models , but I'd like the ability to remove a wheel if I felt like displaying one off . If you don't mind could you check if the T prop is metal or plastic ? Thanks, Bryan I have the boxes from my mo...

Re: Exoto parts ?

For the wheel nut tool, I'd suggest buying the appropriate sized Nut Driver.

Similar to this:

I am not sure what size, but I can see if I can find the correct equivalent this evening when I get home and check mine.

A fool and his money will so be parted?
Nope, but close.

I was thinking: "There's a sucker born ever minute."

Same thought.

Re: Sun Star New 1967 Mercury Cougar Racing #2

And stupid people who don't understand that this car represents nothing historically significant will buy it?

The phrase usually attributed to P.T. Barnum applies here.

Nice work
Got a couple more, but that ACME hauler chassis makes for some pretty easy custom trucks.

I'll share my next build on here.

Re: Extensive repair job on resin model.

That's mucho work. Was the juice worth thew squeeze? If you are asking me, absolutely. I have two unique models, one of which represents a contemporary hauler, the other being an after-thought that clicked. Here's another custom I've done, using the ACME ramp hauler as a donor. https://flic.kr/s/aH...

Re: Extensive repair job on resin model.

Maybe not directly on point, but I have attached a link to a custom build I did recently where I had two trucks, took the beds off both, and then recombined them into two entirely unique trucks. My "glue" of choice is JB Weld, which I have found to be both strong as well as workable and paintable. I...

Re: ACME Drag Outlaws 1965 Chevrolet El Camino

I hope they release the Weber carb engine as a separate item, as they have done other engines. Four Webers on a small block is a great donor motor for custom models.
