Is the rear wing integral to the casting of the deck lid, or is it a plastic piece attached to the diecast?
It's integral.
Of course, you could always get a rear wing for your 1:1.

Re: 1/18th Welly Porsche 997 GT3

So here we go. Need to remove the rear decklid and wing, and replace the wheels with Ruf wheels to mimic my 1:1 I am waiting on the wheels to arrive. But the deck lid is going to be tricky, because I may need to remove the current one with wing and install one from another model with no wing. https...

Re: Do you keep the boxes?

Moving is my WORST nightmare! I did it once, from an apartment to my current house, which are about 45 miles apart. No way I was going to let gorilla-handed movers get close to my diecast, so I boxed them in batches and made about a dozen trips. And that was when I had about half the models I...

Re: Do you keep the boxes?

As a follow up to this, I retired in 2020, and have started downsizing my 1,000+ 1/18 scale diecast collection. Having all the boxes has been invaluable in selling and shipping.

Re: Why would Maisto do this?

Just a quick internet search, and I found the model on Amazon. Interesting that the promo picture shows the doors functional. https://www.amazon.com/Maisto-Assembly-Chevrolet-Corvette-Stingray/dp/B09TN6XCYP https://m.media-amazon.com/images/W/MEDIAX_849526-T2/images/I/61L+Eq2ueFL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Re: ACME Kowalski Challenger Wheel Swap

Great job! If I'm honest, I like the other wheels better. I'm a road racer at heart, and vintage at that. Not really into the retro/street tuner vibe. Planning to put some racing livery on it. Sorry, so we're aligned its the image of the last two wheels I prefer. Ah, as well as being inept at inter...

Re: Question regarding numbers of limited editions Hot Wheels Elite

Was it Kevin on his Scale18 board?

If so, even though he kept the website up for the four or five “regulars”, the “big list” went the way of the Dodo bird.

Re: Question regarding numbers of limited editions Hot Wheels Elite

If the box gives a maximum number, I think you can be pretty assured that's how many they made.

If there's no specific number, especially for a model made that long ago, not sure if there's any source, other than the manufacturer, and even that might be a shot in the dark.

Re: ACME 1965 Shelby GT350R – Gulf Racing Tribute

Now, don't get me wrong, there's doing a fantasy model, and then trying to leverage two iconic themes into additional income with very little expense. "Oh, Wow! Another Gulf livery, I need that to add to my Gulf Camaro and Gulf Mustang racers (neither of which existed in real life)." "Oh, Wow! Anoth...

Re: Thank you RepliCarz!

I have recently created a relationship with Replicarz. I retired in April 2020, and need to reduce my rather substantial 1/18 scale diecast collection. I tried eBay, but the hassle of dealing with each individual buyer, packing one or maybe two models at a time, and awaiting the inevitable complaint...
