Re: What tools do you use...
Regarding decals, you'd be surprised what you can find already available from web hobby stores, slot car stores, or ebay. I have a cheaper model I think but it's very chunky (Lumberjack DRT170/120), I find it hard to keep it level and straight when drilling or cutting, i did think about a drill pres...

Re: What tools do you use...
As with anything else, you can easily go way over the top with things you don't need. I wouldn't bother with a printer for decals. The printers needed for such fine resolution are very costly. For the few times you print decals I would outsource it to someone who uses these printers professionally. ...

Re: Porsche 911 RS 1972.......Turbo conversion 1/8
Cool project. Probably not necessary to choose a 'specific' engine. Maybe make up your own. Porsche made hundreds of variations. The flat fan was merely an attempt to get the engine to cool more equally - specifically the front half of the engine. The 935, 959, 962 and GT1 used watercooled heads. 96...

As I recall, they are snapped on. Kind of like the old Bburagos, but the axle is slotted. If I'm correct, twist and pull at the same time. Less likely to break something if the axles are removed from the model. You can run them under some hot water to soften them up. Don't use a hair dryer or heat g...

Re: Custom 1:43 Arosa build...
Thanks for your reply, yeah I use eye and a breathable mask for all my stuff as the videos i'd seen had the same. It's more of a flap so I need to bend it down some how, there is a flap on the bonnet and a gap further back at the top left of the bonnet, part of me thinks that I cannot just get a mi...

Re: Custom 1:43 Arosa build...
By "flap for the bonnet," do you mean the air outlet behind the grille? Also, be aware that when you are cutting the bodywork you should wear a mask. The castings are usually potmetal with a high amount of zinc. Any airborne metal particles are bad, but zinc is especially harmful. For the bonnet duc...

Re: 1:18 GT3 Cup (991). Does it exist?
I came across a 1:18 991.1 Cup, also made by Spark in sealed resin. This version below was apparently only available in the model store in Germany. I don't know if they made any other versions of the 991.1 in 1:18. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlist.com-vbulletin/640x480/img_4054_181250f880eb672e...

Re: Where to source the Wheels for 1:18 Kyosho 250 GTO
Can anyone suggest me where we can source the wheelset for Kyosho 250 GTO in 1:18 scale. Sadly the rear left tyre had come off and my mistake when i tried put it back the spokes broke off. For a spare you can look at http://www.modelldealer24.de , and eBay in various countries. If you can't find an...

Hi all. I am looking at modifying some london ambulance models and london fire brigade models with flashing lights. The light bars are poor on the models so i was looking to buy some new ones to fit and then put the leds into them. The models are oxford diecast 1/76. Does anyone know any good websi...

Re: Lighting my first model.
Hi everyone, I've just brought my first model and as it is my first project I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. The model is the Greenlight 1/18 Terminator LAPD Dodge Monaco and I'd like to add lights. I'd like to have the top front headlamps on and the lower ones flashing. The ...

Re: Lengthening Diecast Metal Body: What is the best way?
I am definitely not an authority on the subject. However, I did once research soldering metal pieces together and it seemed to me to be too involved and too risky in terms of getting the heat and application right. There is a youtube video somewhere of someone doing it on a diecast model. Perhaps if...
