New here
Hey, y'all.I just found this site and signed up. I'm 66 and have been building and collecting models since an early age. A few years ago I retired and closed my small ad agency. Last year, I decided to downsize and move to Florida so had an estate sale company auction off everything I had including ...

Re: Most of my collection of die casts
In case yall couldn't tell, I was a branding professional. Made the decals for these 1:24 diecasts myself. That's a Jada rollback, and a Danbury Mint '59 Chevy Sedan Delivery.

Impressive collection. Are those 1:18? By the way, I'm into aquariums, but just freshwater. Salt water is way to much work for me!

Advice?
I somewhat new to collecting die cast cars. I built hundreds of plastic kits, but just can't do it to my standards as I age. So I started collecting mostly 1:24 Danbury, Franklin, and WCPD cars. I have a few 1:18 Exoto and others but it's a learning curve. I'd like to know the group's suggestions on...

Re: Hello from Austin, Texas
I've never been into the smaller scale stuff. What's HMI?
PS ~ I have a brother that lives in Austin. He's more into real cars... no so much models.

Re: Most of my collection of die casts
I suppose that a disproportionate percentage of my models are Corvettes. I'm a life-long Corvette enthusiast, and got into brokering real Corvettes after I retired http://www.thevettenet.com . I can only afford one of the real ones, but now I can have my cake and drive it too! http://i416.photobuck...

Keep us posted on your progress. I'm working on a 1:18 repair shop diorama. I've done quite a few 1:25 dioramas with kits I built over the years:

Hi Spanner. Thanks for the compliment. Those are all Danbury Mint or Franklin Mine 1:24 cars, including the DB Mint transporter.

I can't seem to get it to work. I placed the Photobucket link between the img markers, but all that shows up in the post is a box that says "image".

Most of my collection of die casts
I started collecting die casts a couple of years ago, and am still adding to my collection regularly. I'm working on better photos of the individual cars, and will add them later.
