Re: AUTOart quality issue or is this normal?

Got another copy of Autoart GT3 RS, this time without any nasty flaws.

She is a beauty.

Re: AUTOart quality issue or is this normal?

Some more research shows that this is very common situation on this model - every 3rd or so seems to have these glue patches. It is just that in my case the glue patches are much bigger than usual. I have ordered another copy from another seller, will keep the best one to myself and send the other o...

Re: AUTOart quality issue or is this normal?

The glue is inside of taillight, I do not dare to break it apart. Glue is almost invisible in dim or disperse light, but shows only in bright sunlight or spotlight at specific angle. I have seen similar problem also on pictures made by others, e.g. in this review (due to dim light, it is not so obvi...

AUTOart quality issue or is this normal?

Just received this Autoart 911 GT3 RS, it is a very beautiful model, but mine has nasty glue marks in one of taillights (It looks like I am not the only one with this issue). Does not look as disastrous in dim light or from a further distance. I wanted to ask if this is normal "manufacturing toleran...

Re: [2012 - 2018] Minichamps (Paul's Model Art) News

Any info on Minichamps 1:18 diecast Porsche 991 Turbo S (II) and GT3 (II) - what colors will be available and when? I can see some models on their website as "upcoming", however there are some more models not even listed on Minichamps website but available on eBay already. I can see White and Light ...

Re: Paint rash on older diecast models

So yesterday I spent 4 hours polishing 2 models. The machine itself works well and I like how it stops if you accidentally push too hard on paint, very safe and smooth. And it polishes well when the buffing bit is a bit moist and with plenty of Tamiya compound applied, however there is both dust fro...

Re: Paint rash on older diecast models

Thanks for all this info. I may get one but I don’t like the fact the polishing generates dust and you need to wrap the models. Is the dust that bad even in slow speed? The dust comes from buffing bits. I believe the wool or cotton or whatever fluffy material is used produces it. Also micro droplet...

Re: Paint rash on older diecast models

So at last everything arrived. Here is what I got: 1) Micromesh cloth 4000, 6000, 8000, 12000 and Tamiya polishing compound set (coarse, fine, finish). 2) Variable speed nail polisher. In contrast to Dremel, it sits very comfortably in hand, allows speed adjustment from 0 to 20000 rpm and mine came ...

The reason I got into models was to alleviate stress at work  . But yeah, the list actually works most of the time.

Lovely. If not for money and storage problems, would get the Competizione too. Looks awesome.

Re: SPhilli911's 1/18 911s

Sounds like you have the unicorn. For me it is Autoart Diablo Roadster, 2 models already sent back (both with serious faults). As for Viper Green 911, there is one that looks perfect from all sides, but no box and mirror is glued according to description (although it is almost invisible on pictures)...

Re: SPhilli911's 1/18 911s

In the seller's defense, there were no pictures in the Ebay listing of the right side of the car, which I should have requested. That would have shown the defect and the whole mess would have been avoided. Yes, some may call me anal or OCD patient, but pics from all sides and angles usually let to ...
