Re: Ram's 1:18 BMW collection
Awesome collection! I enjoyed viewing them all. Great photography.
I hope I will have the time to photograph all of mine, as you have, one of these days.
Do I sense an M2 coming in your pipeline?

Re: Calling any YWG collectors
Not many collectors around me that I know and no stores to speak of. Yes, it's a lonely hobby other than the online community, so I guess it doesn't really matter where you are. I'd be nice to share our collection, but it's unlikely that we would find someone with the same interests, as you said. I ...

Re: Calling any YWG collectors
Hey, sounds like you have an awesome collection of BMW. I wish I had your level of control. I also don't buy them to flip and hold them for years before I decide whether to keep or trade. It's just so much cheaper to buy when they are still available new. I pretty much have all the models in your co...

Re: Impact of resin cast models?
VW definitely has potential. I have many as well and I certainly haven’t lost money on most. I love my models by Otto and Norev. Which is your favorite? Mine is my MK2 GTI G60 in red. BTW, does anyone know the relationship btwn Otto and Norev as some of the pieces are nearly identical w exception of...

Which bmw model of yours is your favorite and which is on your wishlist?
I have a huge BMW collection. Perhaps we can share what we like and don’t like about them.

Why Isn’t 1:24 scale popular?
I always wondered why 1:24 never became popular among collectors. Seems they never really grew beyond the toy market, despite attempts by Minichamps, Schabak, Gama, among others in the 90s. To me they strike a good balance between the benefits of 1:18 and compactness. I collected them but gave up si...

Anyone collect both 1:43 and 1:18?
I collect both 1:43 and 1:18, and I often find myself trying to decide which scale to focus. If u collect both, what do u see as the advantages of each? I’ll start. I’m sure there are more. 1:43 requires less space to display esp larger themed collections, less expensive, easier to store/ship increa...

Re: Impact of resin cast models?
My goal is definitely NOT to investment in these. it’s defintely a passion that I enjoy, but it sure makes the hobby more affordable if one can make a deposit and then keep trading, instead of having to only buy and eventually give away.

Re: Impact of resin cast models?
Thanks for your insights. Overall it’s a changing industry that is driven by the technological rise of resin cast models and not driven by existing customer base. It’s not like it used to be, where one could actually count on appreciation given wise choices. Quality models were affordable at less th...

Impact of resin cast models?
Hi, just wanted to start a conversation about the future of resin made model cars. The production of resin made models is clearly on the rise. I assume the reason is less expensive molds (helps lower cost of production and the volume necessary to recoup costs), lower assembly cost (no opening parts)...

Hi from USA NorCal
Hi all, Just a quick intro. Been collecting diecast model cars for 20+ year. Collect mostly Euro sports cars in mostly 1:43, have about 600, but over a few hundred 1:18 as well. In addition to road sports cars, I also have lots of F1 and LeMans cars. My favorite marque is BMW. Love cars from the 196...
