Re: “Buying model cars is a complete waste of money”

I have lots of diecast models from more than two decades of collecting. The only thing that annoys me is that some of the competition cars over time change in appearance like decals cracking or yellowing . Despite keeping them in controlled temperature and original boxes away from sunlight.

TSM 1/8 helmet series

Does anyone possess these 1/8 scale helmets by TSM. They look awesome. I wonder if they come with tobacco decals in a packet to be applied after?

Re: Norev : Porsche 962

One more thing. The Porsche 962 Imsa "Lowenbrau" model comes with the German beer decals . Does anyone know if these are waterslide or peel and stick? I would prefer if they were the later as its less of a hassle.

Norev : Porsche 962

Hello Fellow diecast enthusiasts. My topic today focuses on the 1/18 Norev Porsche 962. These have been out for a while now and come in several versions like the IMSA series and European World Sportscar Championship. I've seen photos of them and esthetically give them 7/10. The paint and stickers ap...

Minichamps 1/8 helmets

Has minichamps abandoned the line of 1/8 scale helmets? After the flurry of Sebastian Vettel helmets , it seems like they stopped making them. Perhaps its due to the popularity of the 1/2 scale helmets? Thankfully TSM has made a few classic ones Hunt, Andretti, Lauda , Peterson etc.

Thanks for the reply. I believe the closest diecast store would be Toronto motorsports. I dont know of any other closer shop apart from north east USA.

TSM 1/43 : Porsche 935 Lowenbrau

Hello fellow diecast enthusiasts. I would like to enquire about the Porsche 935 Lowenbrau #86 Holbert/Ballot-Lena/Haywood made by TSM models in scale 1/43. On the TSM website it is listed as pre-order for $86 USD. Some European diecast sites have this particular model already. I have never pre-order...

Hello diecast afficionados. Has anyone experienced problems with their Kyosho diecast models paint and or decals? i was at a trade show and a few said that this was an issue. Is it older models? is it the 1/43 or 1/18 range? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Salutations

Matchbox Super Kings

Hello DieCast friends. I bought a Matchbox Super Kings Scammell Heavy Wreck truck on Ebay . Code # K-2. The diecast is 40 years old but in pretty good condition. There is two minor issues. First is one of the wheels does not touch the ground. Does anyone know how to rectify this situation. Perhaps u...

Re: Rims on UT BMW M3 GTR decaying

Ok guys thanks for your advice. I knew somehow that this could be a problem with UT cars .I would have thought that the decals or paint would deteriorate after twenty years but instead its the rims! Such a pity as they were and still are for the most part awesome diecast models. Chemical reaction be...
