Re: New Ford GT review - is Le Mans racer too brutal for the
Amazing car, loads of new video's appearing now the media is allowed to post. Simple, raw and beautiful, exactly how I want it. Have to stick to 1/18 scale alas.

Re: Fake BBR?
So it's a mistake by BBR probably. I googled for differences in the car itself between the 150 and 400 series, but couldn't find anything. I guess BBR ran out of the red bases and used black bases to be able to finish the 400 series.Kurt wrote:Zondaracer the base says 379/400.

Re: 1/18 Maisto Ford GT90 rebuilt and improved
Phenomenal work! Was really looking forward to seeing the finished product, and this is top-notch. You really did justice to my favorite concept car. Bravo! If one day you decide to build for customers, I'll send you my GT90 :D Thanks for the compliments, glad you like it. It's an amazing ca...

Re: Fake BBR?
Looks like a genuine BBR, indeed probably an error with boxing the model. This is one of the 150 series model, but they put the wrong box over it. Stupid. What does the plaquette on the base say?

Re: Fake BBR?
When I google I find a car with a black base in a red box (the 150 pcs run): https://veiling.catawiki.nl/kavels/6152359-bbr-schaal-1-18-ferrari-fxx-k-abu-dhabi-2014-10-kleur-rosso-tristrato Maybe used as a demo model and put on the wrong base after being sold? Does the bottom of the model show a S/N...

Re: Ricko 1/18 Vector W8 rebuild and improve WIP
You may have stated this somewhere else, but what sort of glue do you use for : Diecast metal to Diecast metal Plastic to diecast metal And what sort of filler do you use? I intend to replicate what you do here, so I am eagerly awaiting your next step! Great initiative! Playing with these diecasts ...

Re: Ricko 1/18 Vector W8 rebuild and improve WIP
You sure? The rear tires look fatter on the real car. Do you plan on making the bonnet open? Your attention to detail is incredible, so whatever you do will be amazing. Yes you're right about the rear tires. They should have been slightly bigger. On the model front and rear are both 35mm in diam. T...

Re: Ricko 1/18 Vector W8 rebuild and improve WIP
I always thought the tires and rims too small for the model. I took the liberty of loaning Kraftig's picture of his red Vector and comparing it with the real car: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/fQQt_muGpJY6agxNkzxeo5FOEnhBB8e_IPPCJuiZsxs3KMrnQGL3KJ9PBQISU5qwYbdfQfrQapwTUxwvzxaTwr7Vwatd59u4cWPx2o...

Re: Ricko 1/18 Vector W8 rebuild and improve WIP
Update 22 April 2017 I have stripped and analysed the model. There is more wrong with the model than I anticipated. I have made a video in which most problems are discussed: https://youtu.be/LIyuVLNo8is Body: - remove engraved line between nose and front spoiler, smooth transition from front spoiler...

Re: FS: Ricko Vector W8 - Red
Looks fantastic in red. Doesn't this thing just jump of your screen? What a cool car. But look at its underpinnings, a Dion rear axle. What was Wiegert thinking?

Ricko 1/18 Vector W8 rebuild and improve WIP
14 april 2017 kick off. As a youngster I had 2 posters above my bed, a white Lamborghini Countach and a silver (or dark silver) Vector W8. That was a long time ago. During a discussion with someone about the first American supercar (Acura claims it was the first with the NSX, ha!) memories about tha...

Re: 1/18 Maisto Ford GT90 rebuilt and improved
Thank you everyone for the compliments. The GT90 was a real gem to rebuild and glad you like the result.
@jim010 thanks for the link. Sad it does not seem to be finished, this guy has superior building skills. Love to see the end result.
