Re: 1/18 Maisto Ford GT90 rebuild and improve WIP
Update 10 April 2017 Today I finished the model. Lots of trouble during assembly, so took more time than I anticipated. Sanding and polishing the body. https://freephotoupload.com/images/2018/09/05/IMG_1476.jpg Difference between polished and unpolished: https://freephotoupload.com/images/2018/09/05...

Re: Advice?
Autoart diecast models in general seem to be doing good. With everyone still having doubts about the current plastic line, the original Autoarts as f.e. the Jaguar XJ13, Pagani's or the Honda NSX are real gems. They have amazing detailing and are very rare.

Re: IN NEED OF SERIOUS HELP IN GETTING A MODEL REPAIRED
That's not just a repair, but a rebuild. The body will need a complete respray so must be disassembled. Perhaps you can order badges and other details from Autoart if the model is still in production. If a professional modelmaker needs to do this, it's probably cheaper to find a new one.

Re: 1/18 Maisto Ford GT90 rebuild and improve WIP
Yes, so do I! Clearcoating finished, now needs to dry for a few days and then a sanddown with grid 2000 and polish. Already shiny but pearl paint makes it a bit "gritty". https://freephotoupload.com/images/2018/09/05/IMG_1473.jpg https://freephotoupload.com/images/2018/09/05/IMG_1474.jpg Tried a few...

No I am building it for my private collection. Maybe in the future I start building models for customers but at the moment too many desirable models on my bucket list and still a lot to learn.

Re: 1/18 Maisto Ford GT90 rebuild and improve WIP
Update 24 March 2017. Small update, moving closer to completion. Mirror holes required attention. They were too big and the mirrors were tilted down. I corrected the size of the holes with a mix of superglue and metal dust: https://freephotoupload.com/images/2018/09/05/IMG_1424.jpg Mirrors were sand...

Re: Liberty Walk Lamborghini Aventador Zero Fighter
Epic paintwork. I will need a lot of practice to get to this level. Just sprayed my GT90 and made a mess of it.

Thanks Maarten, yes it's a great hobby. I am following your work closely as well, just wish I could build them as fast as you do!

Re: 1/18 Maisto Ford GT90 rebuild and improve WIP
Was looking forward to seeing how you'd tackle the lights. Impressive detail work! Didn't even remember there was a zigzag like that. Very nicely done, I'm excited to see the full front and rear assemblies. Yes the taillights required lots of research. I discovered the car has been displayed for ye...

There seems to be debate about this lap. It is even suggested the video is fake.

Great project. Interesting to see with what detailing you come up with. There is a fine line between realistic and overdoing it.

Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase
After a long search found one of my heroes, the Ricko Vector W8. Secondhand, no box and missing a wiper but got it for just 40 euros (selling in this condition on Ebay for 70 euros and new 100 to 120 euros). I intend to strip it and rebuild it anyway, so prefer a model with "issues". Love to see thi...

Re: The Model Car Workshop
I like the hydrodip idea. How precise can decals be placed? F.e. can you do a carbon look car like a Pagani with it, with the pattern exactly lined up? Would save an immense amount of time decaling a body.
