Re: Post Your Latest DIECAST Purchase

Just had a new , never removed from the box Exoto Penske 917/30 car / chassis set show up today from an auction I won with Replicarz . Took the lid off , peeled back the tissue paper and couldn't bear to remove the coverings from the tires . I've got to figure out how I'll display this set . Gorgeou...

Re: Exoto Ferrari 641/2

I haven't bought a 910 yet - I thought some of the newer offerings might be better than models from some years past . My 641/2 arrived this morning - stunning model and I can't find a flaw . I've never been let down by Replicarz !

Re: Exoto Ferrari 641/2

Thanks for the comments - I just realized you moved the thread - never saw it . I kept looking in the general discussion area and then was scratching my head wondering if I did in fact post the question . Tomorrow one arrives in the mail so I'll get to see first hand what I think . Model is new and ...

Re: 1/18 Autoart 964 Carrera RS

^ Thanks . Before I bought my '16 RS I came close to buying one - and regret not having done so nearly every day since . A nice low key drivers car with no big wing or wild flares . Probably would only consider one in Maritime or Rubystone .

1/18 Autoart 964 Carrera RS

Hi Guys ,
Quick question ; I've seen these in white , black , Guards Red , Mint Green , and Rubystone , but wondered if they did it in Maritime Blue ?
Thanks,
Bryan

Re: CMC vs. Exoto Ferrari Sharknose

Don't have much interest in the modern stuff , but it looks beautiful . I've seen ads for them and the detail looks good too.

Re: CMC vs. Exoto Ferrari Sharknose

I'm hoping for an F40 that has the crispness and paint quality that you find in resin models , but with full interior / engine compartment detail and opening features . Collecting Porsche models almost exclusively for about 30 years I've hung onto some of my UT / Paul's Model Art models ( most bough...

Re: CMC vs. Exoto Ferrari Sharknose

I think I'll likely go with the Exoto - probably the Phil Hill version . I managed to get an incredible deal on a new in the box Exoto 641/2 Prost so I can balance the cost a bit on it .

Re: CMC vs. Exoto Ferrari Sharknose

^ I think both of you have a point . I'm probably going to limit myself to 4 or 5 Ferraris and would like to have the nicest example of each that I can buy . On the more recent front I'd love to see an F40 done like the upcoming BBR '' high end '' diecast line . I just can't see spending $400-$500on...

Re: CMC vs. Exoto Ferrari Sharknose

Thanks Alex - that's the kind of input I was hoping for . I haven't bought a Ferrari model since about 1992 or so when I bought one of those Bburago F40's . I recall at the time it seemed so detailed and now it's toy store quality . Regards, Bryan

CMC vs. Exoto Ferrari Sharknose

Hi Guys , I've been thinking of adding a 1/18 Sharknose to my collection and wondered if someone could offer up an assessment of the differences in detail , finish , quality between the CMC and Exoto versions ? Do either suffer paint issues or zinc pest ? From afar both look like nice models , but i...

Exoto Ferrari 641/2

Hi Guys , I've not bought a Ferrari model ( tend to stick to Porsches ) in probably 25 years , but with my new idea of 1 vintage and 1 modern of various great marques displayed together I'm looking at the Exoto 641/2 . I wondered if this model suffered any pitfalls with corrosion or other quality re...

Re: History of BMW in 1:18

Thanks for all the great info and pics . I had the first of my Art Cars ( Lichtenstein ) arrive today and as a total presentation it is very impressive . I haven't unwrapped the cellophane from the glass base yet , but assume the two pieces of glass are bonded in some way with the printed panel sand...

Re: Jenny Holzer Art Car question

^ Thanks so much for the quick response - I think I have a line on the traditional red box version - the one I'd prefer to match the others .

Bryan

Jenny Holzer Art Car question

Hi Guys , I'm sure someone here is bound to know the answer to this question ; did the BMW Jenny Holzer Art Car V12 LMR come packaged more than one way ? I have seen BMW dealer editions packaged in a large low black box with a book inserted into a recess and the model in another recess - this versio...
