Re: 1/18 custom 3rd Generation Camaro Trans Am racer

So, with a weekend behind us, and a lot of zinc dust and pieces littering my workbench and workshop floor, considerable progress has emerged. I bit the bullet, and cut off the plastic stalks on the GMP chassis, which helped, but then that just removes the first obstacle. Much more clearance had to b...

Re: 1/18 custom 3rd Generation Camaro Trans Am racer

So, several hours, battery recharges, and cutting blades later, here's where we are, and I was afraid of this. Sides have been cleared. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50380916037_ca64accc4b_b.jpg IMG_1740 by Jim Forte , on Flickr Areas below the A-pillars have been cleaned up after the piece co...

Re: 1/18 custom 3rd Generation Camaro Trans Am racer

My goal is to retain the integrity of the GMP chassis. They are nicely detailed and becoming more difficult to acquire at a reasonable price. My donor was actually a previously displayed, no box model, that also had some issues with the paint. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50379123492_2a7aa206...

Quick and Dirty 1/18 scale Gulf Box Trailer

Took delivery this morning of a Premium Classix Mercedes Gulf Box Truck. Model had issues (as many of these similar one's have), and bought as a donor. Since these are resin, with very few chassis details, pretty easy to cut the rear of the chassis off, and attach the trailer tongue from a GMP Trail...

Re: Information on the value of a certain diecast in my collection

I don't collect these, but usually when you see an "error" car, it is not simply missing pieces (for which I would return it for a refund), but that there are flaws such as a wrong engine (Ertl did some Nascar Thunderbirds that have Chevy engines in them - that being that the distributor is at the b...

1/18 custom 1962 Chevy II British Touring Car Championship

Not sure how many of you subscribe to Vintage Motorsport Magazine, however it is what keeps me connected to the era when I was a racer. In the May/June 2019 was an article entitled "Chuck and Pete's Excellent Adventure". Hopefully, through this Flickr https://flic.kr/s/aHsmQyUKR4 , you can read it. ...
