Re: GT Spirit New 1:18 Porsche Martini Livery Racer

I can't see the drivers names, and there are no details of the race/event this is supposed to represent. Cheap clear tape (such as Sellotape) placed onto decals and left to 'fuse' for a while will remove most. Placed over clear 'glass' and cut as near to the width of the decal as possible should als...

Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!

Small update. The BBC are still showing old repeats of the show. Listed for this evening is Series 15 episode 1. (Clarkson has fun driving three wheelers). It's hard to think of a natural replacement for the Orangutan. I wonder if he gets paid for repeats?

REVIEW: Hot Wheels 1/24th scale Ferrari's (various)

Something which will probably divide opinion here. A review of the recent range of Hot Wheels sealed 'resin' Ferrari models in 1/24th scale. I bought a 458 Italia, an F12 Berlinetta, and a LaFerrari (which is a very stupid name for such an expensive car!). I have mentioned before that sealed resin i...

Re: [2012 - 2015] OttOmobile

By the way things are looking over the next 2 month release schedule, I won't have to hand over any of my hard earned. Unless the Opel Lotus Carlton is one of the choices.

Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!

The BBC might try a clever trick - allow the production of the show to be carried out by an independent company. Many of the programmes carried these days are by outsourced firms. The BBC also co-produces some of it's stuff in conjunction with other broadcasting organisations. Dara O Briain and Ed B...

Re: First Pics: Sun Star Classic Rallye Series – 1:18 Lancia

This model shows the flaws to be found in 'cheap' mass produced diecast models. I have three of the earlier versions of the Stratos by SunStar and all have the same style, single drivers side door mirror. This is wrong, as any quick search for period photos will show. Strangely enough, it's one of t...

Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!

I guess where this leaves Top Gear now is dependent on Producer Oisin Tymon. If it were me I would give them a pair of boxing gloves each, and put them in the ring for three rounds. When Clarkson was released from hospital I would expect him to apologise in person and buy the beer.....

>>>> It is staying as new in the box. I paid $50 USD and of course no shipping or tax since it was local show. That's a steal. Give yourself a big slap on the back for spotting a real bargain. I bought mine for about the same price direct from Otto, although I did have to pay the shipping cost on to...

Re: [2012 - 2015] OttOmobile

[quote="JamesonsViggen"]Anyone know when this was released? I snagged it at a Detroit show for a good value, my first resine! If you paid less than the equivalent of €100 you can count yourself fortunate. Leave it as is, keep the box and packaging and it will quickly gain value if you decide to sell...

Actually - to answer my own question - Jodie Kidd would add a bit of female glamour, and is a big petrol-head.

Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!

If the BBC has any sense, they will have been looking around for a replacement in recent times..... Top Gear without Clarkson? James May (who didn't impress me at first) has made a number of excellent television programmes, and Richard Hammond likewise. To be honest, no one springs to mind to step i...

Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!

Best comment in the whole show (#7 in this series), Richard Hammond acting as 'spotter' for May in the VW: James, I spotted a seagull! Other things to notice - Clarkson wearing a cardigan. You know you're getting old (male) when you fancy wearing cardigans.....

Re: AutoArt Jaguar XJS 1984 Spa 24 hours winner - spotlights

AutoArt could have produced a number of 1984 race winning versions of the car, but chose the most important - the 24 hour winner. I wanted this version, but those spotlights are needed to be accurate. I have race footage, and if the lights were removed after darkness during the event, I would have b...

AutoArt Jaguar XJS 1984 Spa 24 hours winner - spotlights

It has annoyed me considerably since my model of the 1984 Spa 24 hours winning Jaguar XJS arrived, that AutoArt missed the very obvious spotlights mounted under the front bumpers during the race. So here is my corrected effort. Spotlights are spares from a 1/24 scale rally car kit. http://photos3.pi...
