Bump
My car is a 1987 Pontiac Firebird. I've owned it since August 2014.

Pontiac claims it puts out a mere 135hp but I doubt that. I strongly believe it actually around 170-200

Family transport a Toyota RAV4. For attacking B-roads a small British kitcar, the Midas Gold Convertible.

Weighs just over 700kg thanks to a GRP monocoque. Only metal structural bits are the subframes. Real problem is the engine. All mechanical parts come from a MG/Austin Metro. Suspension is well sorted with double wish bone up front and independent rear, but the engine is terrible. It's an A+ engine with 4speed gearbox in the sump, well known from the Mini. Simple mechanicals so I can do all work, but it's highly unreliable. I had it overhauled and tuned to 90bhp, but still lots of oil spitting. I've now run out of money so have SORNed it to save money for a solution. I would love to have a modern engine but not much fits because of the frogeye lights.

That's the torque you're feeling. HP rating is right & after all this time, likely not even that high. I have a lot of wheel time in cars with that 2.8L V6.

Oh ok. Torque ratings were about 160lb/ft stock. But my engine was rebuilt is there a possibility power/torque ratings may have increased due to the rebuild?

I suppose I should post my first car that I bought 3 weeks ago or so. It broke down after a week and a half, but the dealer fixed it free of charge. It's an 07 Cooper S

My DD is a rare'ish '06 Saab 9-5 combi/wagon with a 5mt.

It is tuned, had an aero interior swap, and a full suspension with Konis, swaybars, springs, poly etc. It looks great for being the dog hauler and having 140k miles.

My summer car is a HIGHLY modified '98 BMW M Roadster. Besides my true love, BBS LMs, it has a Supersprint catback, custom cats/mids, Turner headers, M50 manifold swap, custom tune, and oh yeah a Vortech T-trim that is aftercooled with an RMS stage2 kit. Not to leave well enough alone it also has a beefy cutring headgasket which can hold 20+ lbs of boost. It also has VAC blower cams that make it sound even meaner. It also has the basic suspension upgrades, OEM optional hardtop, full audio upgrade, RAID imported German airbag steering wheel and other small interior upgrades. Always more to do.

Most guys throw 6lbs of non intercooled boost at this car, hit 300hp to the wheels and call it a day. This car is currently tuned for 11.5-12psi and makes 400whp on pump gas. With an E85 tune I can run 16psi and do 500whp. It has no traction control either :)

Volume up!

Lastly, my wife has a new 2015 Buick Regal Turbo(which is really an Opel and made in Germany). Very comfy, pretty quick, good gas mileage and drives nothing like most American cars.

Very nice Wes! Which dealer did you get it from? My brother works at Endars in Ajax.

JamesonsViggen...love both the 9-5 Wagon & M Roadster. Both cool rare cars you never see around.

Wes...great looking Mini. Sorry to hear you had issues so quickly. Hopefully it gets better, especially on your 1st car.
