Actually exceeds it, car has stage 1 APR ;)

I actually went to look at a few 2008/09 R8's. Nice but I kept thinking about the carbon build up issues, very expensive motor to replace or rebuild

Great car, performance wise it is top notch!
I have sad news on the other side; I've sold my beloved 1M today :( I got an offer I couldn't reject and with new M3/4 coming out soon it was time to say goodbye. So I'll be probably joining you VAG boys, thinking of buying MKVII GTI till M3 will be available.

You had a rare beast there my friend, the offer must of been real good! I actually considered the 1M, even put an offer on one. This is one car here in Canada that is going up in value since it was released.

[KRAFTIG] wrote:Well it finally happened, I sold my MKI Audi TT about 2 weeks ago. During the for sale period I went to test drive a number of German cars from various brands... I pulled the trigger on a 2012 Audi TT-RS last weekend. Flew out to Delta, BC to see her. Car was in amazing condition with about 7,800 kms.

Congrats KRAFTIG!! That is outstanding! Love the styling on the mk 2 TT, & the RS is even better. Love it in red.

I think I've mentioned that a local buddy of mine has a Phantom Black TTRS & absolutely loves it (his other current rides are a Toureg TDI, GTI Mk VI, Cooper JCW GP, & a 944 race car).

Just curious, what other cars did you drive? 1M?

Thanks Gavin. I drove R8, Porsche (2007-2009) 911's, and Audi RS4. I never got a round to test driving the 1M as the dealer never called me back based on my offer

funny...those are the same 3 cars my buddy has test driven.

He has said the TT RS is the best, most focused car Audi produced (better even than the R8...I sat in one last week. I want one!). What did you think of those 3? The RS4 is awesome, but quite old at this point.

This is my take. First I drove the TT-RS for about an hour early this spring, it was nothing less than spectacular. The RS4 was nice too, years ahead of my old MKI TT Coupe. The only issue was the carbon build up issue and finding one that would pass my OCD test. The Porsches were nice but the highest priced and believe it or not the worse in terms of overall condition. I wasn't going to dish out $75K for 2008-09' and then have too replace of bunch of interior bits to satisfy my OCD test. The 1M is a long shot. I did respect the all motor, compact size with M3 package BUT I not a huge fan of BMW interiors... So could I live with it long term? he R8 styling is ace, but I was looking at $80K for 2008 with 95K on the dial. Again it features the same engine as the RS4, carbon build up and motor replacement were cause for concern. So when you add up all the negatives and positives of all cars mentioned the TT-RS was the clear winner by far! It is the "it car" for Audi right now. Just watch this video on the history of the I5 motor... Worth the price of admission alone ;)

If you haven't yet, how are you collecting your car? Sounds like a great opportunity for a cross-country road trip.

Train. Working through the process I found out a friend works for a company that specialize in car transport. And this car isn't a cross-Canada type of car :tut:

Oh it arrived last Friday, God this car is FAST! :wow:

Congrats Kraftig! Does it have the optional sport exhaust? That 5-cylinder sounds amazing.

Please share more pics once you get it.
