Post Your Latest NON-DIECAST Purchase
Re: Post Your Latest NON-DIECAST Purchase
Nice! I was so afraid of using these in the past. The tool makes waxing the car sooooooooooooo much easier. I own the Porter Cable brand.

I just added an easy 5hp to the RS, aftermarket puddle light featuring the RS. $15 shipped

Re: Post Your Latest NON-DIECAST Purchase
Been meaning to take my two cars to the next level and finish off some projects.
On the DD:
I had been meaning to swap over door panels to match the upgraded interior. These door panels were not sold with this seat color combo, would have been all black. I like the contrast.
I put in a clipped turbo, big IC, 3" turbo back exhaust and it was time to turn to the transmission. I have a Quaiffe LSD to put in and today bought an Sachs OEM+ clutch from Germany that will drive like stock but holds 420ft lbs/570nm of tq.
Once that is done, the last thing is to put in forged pistons which will allow me to run E85 and more boost. I also have cams to put in. On E85, all in, this will make about 345whp/400ft lbs of tq. I also treated myself to these:
These are from the Chevy Cobalt SS with G85 option(same car the Quaiffe LSD comes from). This is a full bolt on 4piston caliper as opposed to the single caliper stock setup with smaller rotors.
The M Roadster is also in need of a clutch. When that happens in April, I am also converting the car to a 6spd from a E46 M3. The stronger clutch will allow me to run more boost with E85. That will put me in the low to mid 500whp range

Re: Post Your Latest NON-DIECAST Purchase
I bought this stupid Saab. Stupid car, smart me.
It would be about a $2500 car.
But it's got about $15k in upgrades.
I bought it to take the engine out and swap into my car. I already sold all the other upgrades I didn't need. I will have never even brought the car home or register and insure it. It's being parted on the spot where the engine is being installed. At the moment my out of pocket for the car+the labor to swap engines is $500-800(it might hit $0 soon). The engine alone has $3k in machine work and labor(high end balancing and blueprinting, porting etc). This saved me $5k in having this done to my 172k mile engine.
My tuner gives me a handheld tuner similar to Cobb and will have an E85 tune and 93 pump gas tune I can switch between. Although the engine is built to handle 500hp, that to me is silly for FWD. I am going to make about 360 to the wheels on E85 for summer, 315whp on pump 93 for winter.

Kidding aside, 360 AWHP is lot! Torque steer for days
