Tragic news : Paul Walker passed away

Post by David » Sun Dec 01, 2013 8:09 am

I'm in shock right now. Saw this sad news on Instagram this morning. I couldn't believe it...

Paul Walker passed away when he was a passenger in his friend's Carrera GT. Both died in the accident. They were attending a charity for Philippines' Typhoon Victims.

It's a great loss to us because Paul was a true car nut...

My thoughts go out to both families and especially Paul's daughter.
RIP Paul & Roger.

Nothing much left of the Porsche they were driving...

This is tragic news. Lots of conflicting news at first but not it's clearly true. Word is that the Carrera GT was a shop car for Always Evolving, owned by Roger and Rodas and Paul Walker. Most enthusiasts know that the CGT is an incredibly difficult car to drive as evidenced by several (and sometimes fatal) accidents typically from snap oversteer.

Paul was a real car enthusiasts and I would say he was one of the pioneers responsible to jumpstarting the modern day car scene to what it is today. I hope a lot of young kids who looked up to him for the movie franchise learn something out of this but that may be a stretch.

Some of his many gems..true drivers cars.

Wow I knew he was a car fan but I had no idea he amassed such a collection.
jumpstarting the modern day car scene to what it is today.
I disagree, being older than you the aftermarket car scene was already huge during my youthful years... Though I will give him and the F&F crew props for taking it another step further. Though I didn't much approve of the cars from the earlier films :nt:

Another article. It's no secret the Porsche CGT is temperamental...

I re-read the news this morning and it still seems impossible, it's a bad dream and they still have another movie in production ... I'm a little demolished by this news, he was a the good guy among a bunch of nasty, the guy that everyone loved, it's just a shame that this happened ....... I think it will perhaps calm those young driver who want to do the same kind of race.

Living dangerously and quickly usually ends badly unlike movie, rest in peace my friend.

I heard production on Fast & the Furious 7 recently wrapped production. So I guess fans will be able to see Paul Walk live again for one last run! :okay:
