Is this the tv presenter lampooned by Eddie Murphy on 'Saturday night live' - under the name 'Mr. Robinson'?
Seems he wasn't the saint he liked to be seen as......

If the BBC has any sense, they will have been looking around for a replacement in recent times..... Top Gear without Clarkson? James May (who didn't impress me at first) has made a number of excellent television programmes, and Richard Hammond likewise. To be honest, no one springs to mind to step into those large shoes though. Suggestions?

Actually - to answer my own question - Jodie Kidd would add a bit of female glamour, and is a big petrol-head.

Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!
That's terrible news. This season is one of the strongest in years. Chris Harris would be a good member of the TG team, but I am sure Richard and James won't do anything without Jeremy. Well the upside is the F1 season starts Sunday, so plenty of automotive action anyway.

Top gear wouldn't be what it is without Clarkson
Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: The Official TOP GEAR Thread!!!
The thing is though that I believe Clarkson owns the rights to TG so it will be very interesting to hear what happens. They can't just fire him and continue moving forward with the show, which is probably part of the reason why Jeremy has loose lips.slartibartfast229 wrote:If the BBC has any sense, they will have been looking around for a replacement in recent times.....
