Shooting box

Post by GP246 » Tue Sep 04, 2012 3:04 pm

I saw on some site that we could do a shoot box to photograph our diecast.

It would be a good idea to talk about it here if anyone knew how to do it, at least start talking about the way to take the photo, the lighting and everything that has to do with the shooting.

My picture are horrible and i want to do something to have better one.

I have zero skills at photographer but what I've grasped over the years is natural lighting is best. I did own a light box once, bought the kit on eBay similar to the photo below. It also came with tripod, various background colours, and two lights. Cost me $85. I sold it a few months later... Search eBay! Another alternative is you make your own, see link.

I wish I could provide you more assistance, but practice makes perfect, and with digital photography there really isn't much cost to you after the initial camera purchase. I personally own a Nikon D40 with kit lens, does a great job In my opinion.

I'll make one, I think it's easy to do and it's the best way to know if it gives good results.

When it's finished I will show you.

Definitely the box helps a lot to take pictures of more precise way. For the moment this is only a test I'll refine later.
I must say that my camera dates from the time of the caveman. This is another future purchase to make.

Also some editing software would help. I use Corel PaintShop Pro :okay:

It was only a test, I haven't added light yet.
If it was you, what kind of light you will use, a fluorescent type or a bulb type off white?

I use neither, my source is the sun, so use a light source that is more natural In my opinion :money:
