Forced Perspectives

Post by whitworthnut » Sun Apr 12, 2015 5:22 pm

Not a diorama, per se, unless real life is a diorama at large. These were shot at the City of Ottawa Workshops, soon to be torn down to build an Innovations Centre.

The fire truck is a 1:24 scale Yat Ming 1926 Model T Pumper. The other cars are Danbury Mint.

Nice shots there.

I love perspective shooting myself. Here's one of mine. Models are 1:18 and road diorama is self built.

Very nicely done. I've actually done them as small as 1:32, but it get s very tricky.

Great stuff. I want to make stone walls and pavements for my diorama and then am off into the world to try this as well. It's such a wonderful effect. Too bad we don't have any really interesting buildings or scenery around. Pretty boring in my place.

Mountains & water (sea, bay, lake, river) would be nice backgrounds.

The only thing from your list in my vincinity is a lake. And the rest is rather agricultural, miles and miles of meadows. No sea, mountains (Holland is as flat as a pizza) or river. For my Zonda I am looking for amazing architecture as a background, but only boring office buildings.
I'll have a look out for a good spot near a marina or a canal since there is a lot of sailing going on.

I see. Sometimes even old looking walls would do the trick like the pictures below which I took just outside our former house.

It's a piece of 2 X 4' mdf painted grey and weathered.

Here some pictures I took this week end using various government buildings as a back drop.

I was in a little village called Tamworth on the weekend and this sign caught my eye. I thought it was a perfect back drop for a couple of Ford die casts - or are they real?.
