Not sure how many of you subscribe to Vintage Motorsport Magazine, however it is what keeps me connected to the era when I was a racer.
In the May/June 2019 was an article entitled "Chuck and Pete's Excellent Adventure". Hopefully, through this Flickr https://flic.kr/s/aHsmQyUKR4, you can read it.
I became intrigued with the concept behind the cars, a fuel-injected Corvette V-8 stuffed into a Chevy II chassis, intended to only accept either an in-line 4 or 6.
Doing some eBay research, SunStar makes a '62 Chevy II and Ertl makes a '62 fuel-injected Corvette.
Fast forward to just recently, I have completed the model and shipped it to the author of the VM article.
I communicated with him early in the process, and he provided three additional magazine articles to help me with the project.
Due to the limitations of diecast, when it comes to customization, the final project does not absolutely represent the 1:1; however we got damned close.
Here are some final product pictures, followed by a link to the Flickr build album.
