there is a channel on youtube where the person shows off some very nicely done 1/18 autoarts and such with full working lights that can be controlled with a remote. I asked the guy the same question hoping he would point out some options and all he told me was that it's all custom stuff he created from led's and small circuit boards. He told me I could just google simple schematics for led projects and just figure it out myself. The hard part is in willing to open and heavily modify some very expensive models in the first place. Might be a good idea to start off with cheap maisto or something to practice on.
