mrm models

Post by Lucky13 » Fri Dec 21, 2012 11:31 pm

This is a TVR I made for myself. Everything on the model is stock, except that it has been repainted and the interior has been detailed. Awesome model that looked really bad when I first got it.

I need to revive my threads on here and definitely give the support and attention this site deserves.
So here is the latest from me. It is a Ferrari 458 Spider that was made for the owner of the real car in Belgium.

This model was made for a Christmas present to a gentleman from his wife. He had the car when he was still in college back in the '70s. Then his friend borrowed it and stuffed it under a truck and pretty much destroyed it. He promised to fix it, but never did. So the gentleman has been restoring it little by little his whole life. He is pretty old and had almost given up when all the car needed was a paintjob. So his wife and daughter commissioned it and it inspired him to finish it.
I love when I make a model like this, that is something more than a model. I have made few models like that and they are always special to me.

Complete repaint
Relocated mirrors
Relocated antena (funcional)
New chrome trim
Modified taillights
Custom license plate

Love that Dark grey shade on the 458 Spider.

Cool story & results on the Healey. Looks excellent in red.

Mattel elite Italia with Tour De France Blue paint, option sport seats, two tone interior and yellow calipers. It was made for my local Ferrari dealer.

forgive me...I don't know Ferrari's paint colors. Is that FF a repaint, or the just the Hot Wheels Elite white with a wheel & interior swap? I do wish the white Elite had the red interior from the blue one.

LOVE the TDF Blue 458! You've mentioned doing mods for local dealers...are they giving them to 1:1 owners, or displaying them in the dealership?

The white FF is the original Mattel paint with the original red interior from the blue one. The wheels are my moldings designed to work with the stock tires.
The blue Italia was made for a display in the dealership to promote my work, so customers order copies of their cars. Believe it or not, Ferrari themselves were not happy with that and told the dealership to remove the model as Amalgam and MR were supposedly the chosen companies for that purpose. So I took it back home.

Thank you. I will eventually make one for myself too, but this is definitely NOT my favorite color. I will probably get red or orange, or if I feel ambitious enough, may repaint the whole thing and make real custom job out of it.
