MRM models WIPS

Post by Lucky13 » Mon Jan 28, 2013 4:55 pm

I have received some questions about the work on some models and also some people asked for work in progress photos. I have quite few projects in the works, so here I will show some mrm models WIPS.

I am cutting up a few models right now and here is the first of them. A Testarossa convertible. Working on it has been difficult, because there were few companies that made convertible conversions on the TR. Ferrari did not make any production cabrios. The problem is that not only different companies found different solutions for the task, but they also tweaked them over the years. This means that a lot of these convertibles are different. This makes gathering comparison material very difficult. At the end I decided to make the car in a variation that would look the best In my opinion with the "cleanest" design I have seen so far.

The base model is Kyosho and this is the start.

Well, I have four Testarossas I need to get done. This one is commissioned by a customer. Then there is a Bburago that is on the same path, but I don't care to have its engine open. There is a Mattel one on its way becoming Gianni Agnelli's wedding present and then a Mattel Elite is becoming a Spider from the Sultan of Brunei's collection.
The bburago is going to be red, the Kyosho I showed is going to be yellow, the Brunei one is going to be black and the GA Spider is silver.

nice :) Agnellis car is the silver pu**y magnet Testarossa spider, right? :D...i have some spider plans, but i realy dont like the big sidewindows on 80s Ferrari convertibles...i brought the awful mattel 512M and dismantled it to ad some details, but the wheels engine and the engine cover are very very bad :P..i think the best choice is buy an Kyosho 512TR and use the (modified) front lights and bumper + back lights from the Mattel, but i have a serious problem to "destroy" an beautiful Kyosho model car with my experiments :P (the money is an issue too)

so im heading to a heavy Bburago Testarossa mod to an Koenig + i have 2 Kyo 365 BB,(red + yellow) so i thought to dismantle one, copy the body, do the bodykit and then make that the pacient can live without any harm :D...but i have no balls to do it yet :D

Here is an interior that will soon be in a special 599.
Fully repainted
Carbon fiber trim and seat backs
New carpet (the original was the early Elite's felt stickers)

What you see is the only black in the interior. All the roof and A-pilar trim will be in the same beige. Even the seatbelts.

Interior looks great! I'm a huge fan of tan interiors. What does WIPS mean? I always see that.
