Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Alfa 4C modifications)

Post by Marcel171281 » Sat Feb 25, 2023 8:49 am

After long, long and even longer thinking about it, I finally added a Ferrari SF90. As said when I showed the BBR F50, my bank account is ruined from now on. By starting to add BBR models I opened a can of worms.

So I decided to buy a BBR SF90, but the next question was, which spec? When picking up the F50 I looked at some different SF90's the dealer had in stock. I could have bought it at that moment, but couldn't decide at that time. It had to be a spider, because of the additional look into the interior, but the colour was a different story. It took me another week to make my mind up and went with a very bold and unique specification. As I like different, in the end I went for a 'assetto Fiorano' spec in Verde Zeltweg and goldish/copperish wheels and livery.

It is hard to get correct on photos, but the green is absolutely gorgeous in person. And the combination with the gold/copper colour is perfect imho.

The rest of the model, like the F50, is perfection. Apart from the obvious (being sealed), there is only one thing that could be better, and that is to add some text on the sidewalls of the tyres, like AA does nowadays.

Must be shocking for someone who believes Ferrari's should be red, red, red or maybe red :rotfl:

Not a new addition, but another slight modification. The UT models Ferrari F355 is in my collection for around 25 years. It needed a proper refresh anyway as it developed some rash and it has been living a big part of its life on a shelve with no protection, so a disassembly in order to do a good clean was also no luxury. While being in bits, I decided to change the interior spec to beige on red carpets (is was boring black on black plastic). Also added seatbelts.

agreed. I had UT's Spider for a long time...only sold it because the Hot Wheels Elite was so good. Nice change on the seats.

A model that came in a while ago is the Triple9 Alfa Romeo 164 Q4. Years ago I bought a Triple9 model (Lancia Delta) and it was the worst model I had ever seen. But after they announced the Alfa 164 Q4 I started doubting whether to add it or not. The 164 Q4 has a special place in my hart for some private reasons, so I needed one badly. Given the previous experience with Triple9 I had to see it in the flesh first, so time to go out for some shopping. To my surpise the model is very decent, Triple 9 has improved massively, so I bought one.

This model is ment to be modified into a replica of the very car that has a special place in my heart, but that is going to take some time. My 'to modify list' is pretty long and time is a thing at the moment. It will eventually get BBS wheels, an interior change and some other small changes.

Looks pretty decent...always really liked the 164. Interested to see it after your mods.

Another BBR pre-order came in last week, the Ferrari 812 Competizione in Azzurro La Plata.

No surprise there :rotfl:

Well maybe the next addition is more to your liking colour wise.

I have one problem with the newest arrival: Why the hell didn't I but this sooner!

It's an ACME Ferrari 512S 'Coda Lunga' from the movie 'Le Mans' form 1970. It is basically a re-release of the former GMP model. But what can I say, just look at the photo's. It is a lot of photo's, but I couldn't stop taking them. Ow and yes, I know there is no Ferrari badging on the model, and neither is Ferrari mentioned on the box. Probably something with licensing. I will add the badges later, it will be a simple fix.
