I bought some 1/64 super nine, got a 1/18 today finally.
It's one of the 1:1 RWBs I have seen in person. I like it so much...

Hi Brian

Do you know details on these two models from HPI?
I know both models are super rare, do you know how many of these two HPI made?
I have #44 Lark version and this is my first time seeing the one with out the Lark decals.

By the way you have an amazing collection of models and specially the F1's :worthy:

Thanks!
These HPI 1/18 models are extremely limited in production numbers, the worldwide quantities will be in the low hundreds. Those come with LARK decals are HPI offical shop limited editions. Even though they don't come with any limited certificates, HPI had stated that they're limited to 30pcs when they had been released years ago.

Thank you for the great info Brian.
I did not know how rare the Lark #44 was, Im happy that I have one in my collection and a surprising thing happened 3 days ago a friend that collects models as well offered me a none Lark #44 for a trade with my extra HPI F1 #59 UenoClinic, I jumped on the opportunity right away. Now I have almost all the HPI 1/18 McL F1s, missing #60 96 JGTC, hopefully I can find one soon.

Hi Brian, your collection is simply amazing! Just started collecting diecast in the past two months and I've joined this board to lean on your expertise as I am a Mclaren F1 crazy myself and you seem to have one of the most complete collections I've seen. My collection is currently comprised mostly of 1/28 Kyosho Mini-z which is a scale used in RC.

I just recently started collecting HPI 1:43 Mclarens and have my eye on collecting HPI 1:18. The Lark livery is one of my favorites as well and the information above is great!

Few questions for you:
- Which three manufacturer's casting are your favorite in order for McLaren F1 at 1:43?
- Which three manufacturer's casting are your favorite in order for McLaren F1 at 1:18?
- Anything helpful to share about collecting the 1:43 HPI Mclaren F1s now that it seems you have all of them?
- Any recommendations aside from Ebay or Yahoo Auctions to source HPI Mclarens?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and collection!

Hi, Sorry for the late response. glad to know a new Mclaren F1 collector.
I like all the Mclaren F1 models, no matter it is a road car, or GTR or LM, and no matter what decals those GTR have on their body. I love them all.
Everyone has their own preferences. It does not mean I like this, others will definitely like it. I'm glad you like mclaren as much as I do.
As you can find In my collection, most of the 1/18 are from ut/minichamps. autoart, TSM, also some resin models from HPI, Peako and others .
most of the 1/43 are from HPI, autobarn, ixo,

There is nothing special if you want to complete a collection, patience is the most important., and then is luck. Over ten years, I have found most of HPI mclaren on eBay and stores in Hong Kong, because it is almost impossible to find any from our local stores. I dunno whether it's a good timing to collect these HPI Mclaren, it really depends on where you live, it seems like they're double even triple the prices as I got mine, So, I wish you good luck on collecting them.

The first RWB 964 from Ignition models arrived, also it is the first RWB I have seen in HongKong years ago.
