Re: Wes' Collection - UPDATED APRIL 22
CMC 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR #722.
My first CMC did not disappoint. Beautiful from every angle and of extremely high quality. It is a legendary car that raced in a legendary (though long extinct) race, the Mille Miglia, in 1955 and won it. It was driven by Stirling Moss, who already made a name for himself by then as one of the greatest drivers in the world. Strangely enough, the 300 SLR was based on a W196 Formula 1 car, though the similarities end at the hood wire mesh cover and the colour. I wrote a review that can be found here http://www.diecastsociety.com/review-cm ... ling-moss/, so check that out for more pics and such. Enjoy chaps.

Re: Wes' Collection - UPDATED APRIL 28
I was thinking either the blue Bugatti Type 35 or the black Ferrari Testarossa
Re: Wes' Collection - UPDATED APRIL 28
Black Ferrari 250 TR is
But beware leather straps that hold bonnet and trunk covers are pain in the arse to operate.
For Bugatti Type 35 I highly recommend version in British Racing Green.
It is very important car in the history of motorsport.
It is a winner of 1929 Monaco Grand Prix, the first ever Monaco Grand Prix.
Also it is the first documented use of an iconic British Racing Green colour.
Photo found on the web.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the way any of these look. The blue has that classic Bugatti look to it that I love. Even the black Testarossa is stretching it a bit. I'm thinking of just getting the plain-bodied red version. I don't like the covered headlamps on the black and the white and blue Lucybelle is ugly as hell.

Re: Wes' Collection - UPDATED APRIL 28
Lol Kraftig, I mentioned three of them, so I'll just post all three instead of asking which one.
This is the Bugatti I wanna get.
This is the black Testarossa...
...but I'm thinking of getting plain red instead, cause I think it sorta looks best that way.
This is the other one, and I don't care what anyone says, I think it's ugly. That paint job belongs on a Mustang...

Re: Wes' Collection - UPDATED APRIL 28
It was the Ferrari, TX. I like the Bugatti but the mode suffers from serve camber deformation if it sits for long periods... And blue is definitely baller!

Good to know. I'll have to research something to do about that

Well, that's an unpopular opinion. A blasphemy to be exact.

Re: Wes' Collection - UPDATED APRIL 28
Haha yeah I tend to be blasphemous when it comes to popular opinions. This car looks like a half-starved old man, all skin and bones. White paint just exacerbates that. Red looks good though. I generally don't do the whole celebrity worship when it comes to cars. I judge them all equally.
Re: Wes' Collection - UPDATED MAY 26
I missed this thread! Love the CMC Moss Mercedes. I have long coveted that model...the detail and quality appear superb, perhaps one of CMC's best? It may well find it's way into my collection!
TSM porker looks rather tasty, too. You have good taste in models, sir!
