Kwando's Collection Journal - Ferrari Update!
Re: Kwando's Collection Journal
Yes The white is cool !
Re: Kwando's Collection Journal
Thanks for the advice, Gavin. I had the opportunity at one point but decided to pass as it didn't look that great to me. And the UT Ferrari I have is good enough for me (cheaper too!).Gavin wrote:still one of my favorite Ferraris.
The GTS is my favorite bodystyle, too....had the UT Spyder & the HWF GTB. I was hoping that Hot Wheels Elite would do the GTS, but they never did. Dennis, if you don't have a Hot Wheels Elite version, they're definitely worth picking up.
Re: Kwando's Collection Journal
Small non-diecast update. I ran out of display room awhile ago and after rotating my cars time after time, I finally got around to bringing over an old Detolf from my parents place. It was originally beech but now painted white. Very happy with it. I was in too much of a rush so it's empty now but I look forward to filling it with cars. I recently added a number of cars so hopefully I'll be able to make time to take pics of them. Please exclude the crap lighting.
Re: Kwando's Collection Journal
can't wait to see it filled. Love those Detolfs.

1:18 Hot Wheels Foundation Ferrari LaFerrari (White with Gunmetal Rims) [Revisited]
Notes:
I had this planned for awhile and finally got around to doing it on this fine Sunday morning. Loved my white LaFerrari but couldn't get on board with the silver rims so I painted them gunmetal, which I prefer. In the future I may repaint the interior red to complete my desired spec. It's not perfect but very happy with the result. I used a liquid mask to cover the centre emblem but because it was such a small area it wasn't perfect. I tried to touch it up after pealing off the mask but that was sort of a mistake because it got on the emblem. Not that noticeable though.
I think the gunmetal rims really transforms the model.
Edit: The brush it comes with is really thick so I think next time I will use a fine paint brush instead to make application more accurate.

Looks great. What's all that blue stuff? Some kind of masking?

Yea it's a liquid mask..apply and peel off when finished. I was going to order it on the internet but luckily my local hobby store had it. I would recommend it.

Looks great Dennis!
Re: Kwando's Collection Journal - Hot Wheels LaFerrari Revis
gunmetal suits it nicely....the red interior would look excellent against the white!

Still playing around with photoset ups. Pretty happy with this time around but not sure how long it'll last Still working on the lighting..
1:18 BBR Ferrari F430 Spider (Red)
Notes:
I was lucky enough to pick this one up from a fellow local collector and couldn't be happier to have this as my first opening BBR model. Details are astonishing. I particularly like the challenge wheels and sport seats. Of course one of the most common issues is the ride height. Some would argue that it is in fact correct but nevertheless I prefer my cars to be low so I was able to lower it a bit with some paper clips and I could have lowered it a bit more but didn't want to force it too much.
1:18 Hot Wheels Elite Ferrari F12 (Red)
Notes:
I had the opportunity to add this to my stable when it first came out but foolishly passed on it at the last second. My renewed interest in it spurred me on to hunt one down and luckily I found one from a local seller for a reasonable price. Very happy with it an very impressed with the tiniest details..Hot Wheels Elite you will be missed. I don't have a Bburago yet but hopefully the quality will be on par with this one. This F12 will hold me down until my TDF F12 gets here.

1:18 Ottomobile BMW M3 CSL (Steel Grey)
Notes:
I wasn't planning on adding this one but it's M badge wiggled its way into my garage of her other siblings. I didn't think this would be as good as the AUTOart/Kyosho but after I got it in my hands I was very surprised. The shape of the car, lights, and the wheels is impressive. What I don't like about it is the interior, which is not as good the diecast variants. My problem with it is that it lacks the alcantara details. But this being resin it just wasn't in the cards. No pics of the interior sorry.

1:18 GT Spirit Porsche 993 RWB (Red/Green)
Notes:
This is no stranger to collectors. I have the red 993 RWB sitting next to me and the green one is proudly on display in my living room. I think this one's a love or hate type of model given how special the car is being butchered with tuner touches. I for one am in love with the red one. It's the prefect colour for me.
