I asked to have it replaced, but in the meantime I decided to go full DIY with super glue and shaking hands. It looks okay, but anyone can see its been repaired. The rear screw had come all the way off (the front ones were loose too) even though the box seemed brand new and untouched, really weird.

Anyway, the box is not super snug so the car has been moving around inside it. Horrible to think about, but luckily there seems to be no paint chips apart from the wing assembly.

Seller offered a discount that I had to accept after going glue, lol. But knowing myself I will never "love" this car now that it has issues.

That said, its a beautiful model, it looks very impressive. Its also heavy and solid, much heavier than the DTM M3.

It gets worse. I just have to laugh, my dad came over and I was showing him the car (he has some Autoart E-Types, D-Type, C-Type ++, so he gets it) and I dropped the bonnet on to the steel leg of a lamp. Now it has two nice chips in the bonnet! Maybe I should just run it over and be done.

Oh, and I have not heard back from the seller since I agreed to take the discount 24 hours ago.

I think I am cursed. Today I received my Kyosho Lancia Delta Integrale (epic model, first release), and as I was opening one of those stupidly-hard-to-open platic thingys (screwdriver set) it burst open and one of the screwdrivers flew across the room and HIT THE LANCIA. I swear, you cant even make this up, its an impossible feat to do that again.

So, now I am looking for tips on how to fix paint chips. The screwdriver of doom hit it just on the number plate on the driver door - not seen in the pics as I try to ignore it for now by displaying it passenger out. Its basically a pretty deep and short chip revealing bare metal. So, any tips on fixing this? I was thinking maybe getting some hobby paint as it is white, same as the M3 GT2. Maybe a piece of white decal?

Oh my god, that is ridiculous. Get the white paint, it'll work just fine.

Apart from this the QC, finish and shut lines are not that great, particularly the nose section is best admired from a distance. The car looks good when you take a few steps back, but In my opinion this is overpriced. Its a shame, really. Oh, and I bought the wrong car! This is the car that didnt win, lol.
