Thanks Guys,i agree its the colour that makes this model for me,you really do have to see it in person, must have been something else to see the real car in this colour.

Up next is another very nice looking model it's the Top Marques 1/12 1976 Ferrari 512BBi,in red. It's a Fantastic looking model but i have to say with regret the quality is not very good for what these cost,a shame really as the subject is spot on and a beauty to see up close. The rear louvered Engine cover is wonky and all over the place instead of being straight and the Engine is basic with detail at best along with stick it anywhere Ferrari name. Come on Top Marques you can do better than this as i have quite a few of your 1/12th models and some are really good with good quality of build too. I love the pop up headlights, always have loved cars with these(had a few real ones with pop up lights many years ago now) A bit more time spent with more detail added and better build quality this could command premium prices but as it is,sorry it just looks good from near it.

Yup! They seem to have people fooled. I guess its the model looks great in the picture thing. However, once you see them in the flesh you have some serious buyers remorse. I will give them kudos on the tire, they are different!

There doesn't seem to be any middle ground any more it's either CMR quality or CMC quality and TM want CMC money for CMR quality,if you know what i mean.

I don't believe the gap is that large. But definitely not as solid and defined as it once was.

Eeek, it's like they don't even try. I bet it still looks alright on display, but honestly if I were you, I'd just return it.

The next one is a Gorgeous model. It's the Autoart 1/12 2013 McLaren P1 Matt Black with Red accents. Such a joy to see opening parts to a 1/12 model and it feels robust when you handle the parts that open them like the front hood and two doors open along with the rear wing, can be prised up from the closed position, although my model didn't come with a tool(second hand but advertised as new) Such a pity the rear Engine glass doesn't open, you missed a trick there AA.Comes with steerable wheels too,now that is a feature i do miss on a model. I love the shape of these McLaren's and the detail is very good but not as good as the BBR and Peako 1/12 models but they are sealed so it's swings and roundabouts. The 1/12 McLaren 720S is just a few models back if you want to compare models. May have to look at getting the red version too they are that nice, see what you Guys think.

Great colour! It looks sinister!
feels robust when you handle the parts that open them like the front hood and two doors
I felt the same way when I recently opened the BBR/diecast 1:18 FXX K, SOLID! :okay:

very nice Darren, thank you for keeping us entertained in this boring time.

I wonder if the engine lid can be opened somehow. Sometimes these "sealed" cars from autoart have a way to open a compartment by undoing some of the screws (Porsche 918, McLaren F1 LM, RWB 911 come to mind)

Thanks Guys,i did look at the rear cover but no way of opening it from what i could see without braking it. The AA 1/12 models do feel good to handle and can take the clumsy arm brushing against the wing mirror, they may have turned a corner for a good mix of build, rash and price point only the future will tell us. I have one more McLaren i want in 1/12 before i will try to get a group of the 1/12 family together, some are fairly easy to get to in storage so fingers crossed in the next few months. :fingercrossed: :wow:

Next up is another beauty in the larger scale. It's the Spark 1/12 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR Pink Pig,Class Winner 24h Le Mans . Another great looking model although it looks bigger than the 1/12 McLaren's i recently added and noticeably wider or it looks it when near each other. Although sealed it is a very nice looking model.

Thanks Guys,it was the livery that swayed it for me having seen the 1/18 pink pig's livery, its so different to see. Coming from Spark it has very nice detail to it as well.
