I did look at getting the DB5 but was put off by people who have this model and once it was built up was told that once the mistakes were pointed out to them(apparently there are a few)The model was more toy like than the actual car.Just from memory the front screen is at the wrong angle and the interior is not like the original but can't remember which parts. There are threads on the net with people showing the differences.Bynx wrote:Living in England, Im sure you have seen or heard of the 1/8 scale Aston Martin DB5 that was put out as a kit with a magazine. Each week or month one piece of the car arrived with the magazine. After 85 issues the car was complete. All things on the car functioned with light and sound. And that only cost around 591 pounds. Its not many who has the dedication to really appreciate quality and willing to go the extra mile to achieve it. You really do have my admiration.

Re: Drivinghermad collection
They were a part of GMP and have GMP Quality so when they went bust so did RAR.[KRAFTIG] wrote:Big KaHuna indeed!
So what became of Real Art Replicas? How many models did they release?
After GMP came back from the Ashes(ACME Trading Company) the first 1/8 model was the SoCal Belly Tanker #R0805101,
The ones that RAR made were(some of the codes are different as it depended if it came with a case or not) :
#36,1967 Eagle V-12,Gurney/Weslake, #R0800901 in 1/8 scale
#60 Jaguar 1988 XJR-9 V-12 Castrol,#R0803801 in 1/8 scale
Porsche 550 Spyder,R0803901 in 1/8 scale
Greer/Black Dragster,R0603801 in 1/6 scale
#14 Porsche 1985 962 Lowenbrau,R0803903 in 1/8 scale
#6 Ferrari 330 P4 ,R0804101 in 1/8 scale
RAR was about to bring out a Version of the 550 spyder with Red Fender Stripes but went bust before it could be made.
Hope this helps,Darren.

The next lot of models have got to be In my opinion the best 1/12 Vintage type models in the world,Quite a few photos, will have to put them on in a few lots, but worth it.They are the 1/12 Danbury Mint Cadillac V-16 1930 Roadster in green, the 1/12 CMC 1937 Horch 853 Sports Cabriolet in Black/Silver and the Bauer 1/12 1935 Mercedes 500K Special Roadster in Brown.
