Thanks. Yes I doubled the shelves right from the start. I like you half shelves that's a good idea. For now I will use my 9cm stands to add cars so shelves won't look too crammed. I have another different display with twice more cars that is almost full, LOL.

Its a 1971 Volvo P1800 ES. A beautiful piece indeed! especially for a Minichamps model! LOL! And yes they are becoming quite rare. I got this model from e(vil)bay for a reasonable sum.. not cheap but not terribly expensive either.

Always loved these things and when I found out there was a model of it I jumped on it!

I set those smaller shelves at 9cm height funny you mentioned that being the height of those stands! Any lower would start getting in the way models on display and any higher and it would be too cramped.

I got those shelves cut to 860mm wide and 120mm deep. I was going to get them cut narrower at 100mm but didn't want to cut my available space too short.

So now apart from adding some more LED strip lighting to brighten up the display its pretty much complete.
