Starting a collection to display in a scale Parking Garage

Post by RVAE34 » Sat Mar 11, 2017 4:56 pm

I figured I should start a new thread here instead of in introductions.

I am 37 and just starting. Have wanted to for years with the goal of displaying in a scale parking garage and I finally started buying up cars which will force me to move ahead. I used to build a lot of scale models but don't have the time. I even spent a year or so working on a 1/8 Pocher F40 with the Autograph transkit but again, family and 1:1 car building gets in the way. This hobby will also help me curb my desire to buy real cars all the time

Already have Davis & Giovanni Ferrari F40 Competizione in red

CMC Ferrari 250 GTO in red

Autoart Nissan Hakosuka GTR tuned version in white on the way

Autoart Wangan black 911 on the way

Custom Autoart MB 190e Evo II lowered with black AMG wheels on the way

Otto BMW E34 M5 touring in daytona violet on the way

Autoart Volvo 850R wagon in cream yellow on the way

I have pre-ordered the Kyosho 1/12 Ferrari F40 competizione and the BBR Ferrari F40 LM in white

Next I want to order the orange TSM McLaren F1 in orange, Autoart R34 GTR in blue or millennium jade, Autoart Lamborghini Miura in orange

The detail on the CMC 250 GTO is pure insanity. I have never seen anything like it and it was well worth the money. Same with the D&G F40 although I wish all the doors and hood opened on that one of course.

This is another scale garage someone created and I will be going for something very similar.

:o WOW!!! that CMC Ferrari 250 is insane!!! :okay:

I have a Kyosho high end version of the 250 but the CMC simply destroys it for sheer detail! :worthy:

Keep us posted on your progress. I'm working on a 1:18 repair shop diorama. I've done quite a few 1:25 dioramas with kits I built over the years:

Thanks! I was looking at the Kyosho 250 but I only paid a little more for the CMC on eBay and the detail is second to none.

I got the Autoart 911 and GTR which are both very nice as well.

That Porsche is pretty decent, just reviewed it in detail.

Yeah it's not too detailed but the overall look is spot on. I am not a huge 911 fan but I had to have that one.

Got my E34 M5. Too bad I found out a real Euro daytona violet 3.8L M5 was for sale here in the states not long ago but already sold :( It's probably the only BMW I would sell my beast for.

It is indeed the Otto. I expected it to be resin but it's metal and very heavy. Overall, a very nice model for the price. I may go ahead and get the 190e Evo1 as well.

You are mistaken, it is resin, ALL OttOmobile models are. There is weighting inside some models to give the impression of scale.

Aha!! Thanks for the info. I just assumed because of the weight. I don't want to handle them much until I can get cases.

Here is my 1:1 BMW btw.

Thanks! Mine too. It's like a modern E34.

I got my Autoart 850R in cream yellow and am extremely pleased. A very fine model. I got it for a great price too. I've been searching forever. Crazy how much they generally sell for.
