Marcel's 1/18 scale collection (Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR-1)
Hi all,
I thought I share my collection with you guys. Been on the forum for a while now, so why not create a topic and share it with you.
I've been collecting since a little kid. Most cars from back in the days didn't survive (kids play with it, instead of looking at it). I collected till about 15 years ago and then stopped because of study, marriage etc. I picked up collecting 1/18 about a year ago again.
I collect both road (mainly) and race cars form after the war (don't really like the very old stuff). I basically collect what I like, and that's a lot. So it's very divers, form old american cars tot modern supercars and everything in between. I normally never collect the same car in different colors or coupe/cabriolet, because I like the diversity of cars in general.
Also, because of the nearly 15 year gap, it's a mixture of old Bburago / Maisto and new models from mainly AutoArt, GTS, Schuco, Kyosho etc.
Future plans are to fill the gaps and expand the collection, and also replace the old Bburago's etc for new, better models. Some I modified to look a bit better, but will probably be replaced at some point in the future. What I also like to do, is build a garage diorama in the future, but I'm still lacking the time for that unfortunately.
I will keep you guys posted on updates. Hope you like the pictures!
Gr Marcel from the Netherlands.

Very nice collection Marcel! I love the array of models. Nice driver gear for the video games, how much is that setup?

Thanks Kraftig!
When some more gaps are filled, models upgraded and the collection is a bit more matured I will! Also I would like to have the diorama ready for nice photo's.
The sim rig is self made with the old bucketseat from my old trackday car. The wheel and pedals are standard Thrustmaster and the screen a curved Samsung. Ow, and offcourse you need a PC (or console). Costs? Same as a couple of AutoArts or CMC's

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection
My latest buy just arrived today and it's the Porsche 356A Speedster from Schuco. I was a bit anxious about this one, because I saw a lot of pictures on the internet with horrible shutlines etc.
I took the risk and although it's not the best model from Schuco, it's decent and worth the money. Panel gaps are not bad at all, paint is not the best i've seen, but oke for me (it's not new and needs good cleaning as well). Details are typicaly Schuco, and very nice.
It will replace my old Bburago. Which is obviously blown away by the Schuco.
Enjoy the pics!

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection
Just before the end of the year this arrived:
It replaces the old Bburago piece. Must say, the Minichamps is a pleasant surprise.
Happy new year everyone! May 2018 bring some very nice models for everyone! Till next year!

This is a very old mould from Minichamps, back in the hay days!

Latest addition:
Minichamps GT2RS. It was just so low priced, could't say no.

Re: Marcel's 1/18 scale collection
Yesterday I went to a shop here in the Netherlands, that always has some older models in stock, that are brand new and hard to find. It's a total drive of 5 hours, but always worth it (doesn't have these models in his online shop).
Bought some models that were on my wishlist, so the drive wasn't for nothing.
The first one I photographed is the Kyosho Ferrari Daytona. Maybe not Kyosho's best model (bit rough on some parts I think), but the shelf presence is superb, especially in race trim. The model came new, still in it's sealed box.
