Also delivered a couple of weeks ago is the Iginition Models Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R Nismo R400. In real life, probably the most expensive Japanese car, other than the Toyota 2000GT. I won't be going into details about the 400R, but if you know, you know.

This is the second model I bought from Ignition models after the Mazda RX-7. It is not bad, but there are some irritating shortcuts on this model, which weren't on the RX-7, like solid grills. Shouldn't be the case on a 300+ euro resin model. Stance and presence are very good though.

Love the colour! At their price point plastic, solid bits are no, no. Love if you could write and review based on your experiences with this model. TIA!

Paint is on the thick side, wheels details could be better painted and of course the solid grilles. Hard to swallow at this price point.

I stil owe you a review of the Ignition RX-7, so let me add it to the to-do list :shame:

I did some shopping again and added two new Ferrari's this time. Maybe for Kraftig a bit of a :tut:, because both are dark blue, instead of red. I still had the Ferrari 456 GT in my collection from Bburago. With some modification, not that bad actually, but it kept bothering me, as it seems off for some reason. Turned out, it wasn't 1/18, but more close to 1/20, making it look weird sitting between other models. So I replaced it with the GT Spirit model, which just looks a lot better on display.

While at the shop, I was looking at some KK-scale models, and my attention was drawn by the Ferrari 330GT 2+2. This Ferrari is one of the predecessors of the 456 GT. And, it was there in (nearly) the same spec, dark blue over tan interior. So yeah, obviously it had to be taken home.

I did some minor modifications to both models, on both I made the shutlines black, and on the 330 I flocked the interior floor. I tried the same on the 456, but they used so much glue, that I couldn't get the bottom off. Maybe I try later with a heat gun.

Nice adds sir! KK Scale is great for the hobby. They action some unique pieces while keeping prices more than reasonable

I've been tempted by the 330GT...it looks excellent in this dark blue!

They are. Although it might be wise to either look good at pictures online, or see their models in the flesh before buying them. Some of their models are very good (like this Ferrari, the 288 GTO or the Lamborghini 400GT I have), while others are not as good or even considdered bad (the Ferrari Testarosso or F40 for instance). Some cherry picking is advised here.

This Ferrari 330GT has quite the interesting stories surrounding it. Its weakest point (the real car that is) are the quad headlights, which are universally frowned upon. Story goes that Enzo Ferrari himself insisted on them and absolutely loved them. He used one for a personal car for quite some time, which was green metallic. Both KK Scale and BBR mae a green model, which they label as Enzo Ferrari's personal car. The coolest thing about it is that this Ferrari was John Lennon's first car ever. True story. His was painted french blue, had a unique cloth sunroof and was right hand drive with a dark blue interior. BBR makes a model of it.
KK scale has been improving greatly without raising their prices. Their weakest points used to be their wire wheels, which on their Superamericas were atrocious and their interiors, which lacked detail and depth. I am super happy to see their wheels greatly improved and their interiors starting to get better too.
I have to agree with Enzo Ferrari here :rotfl:

But yeah, this model is pretty good. Not sure if they improved over time as their Lamborghini 400GT 2+2 from some years ago is just as good. They are just a bit all over the place from model to model. Also keep in mind I did some subtle improvements to the interior. Fully agree on the wheels though, they are better than on the early Ferrari's they did.

It is good, if you're still in doubt, I can only advise to pull the trigger ;)

A model I just had to buy, just because I think it is one of the coolest models I have seen recently, is the Solido Mini Cooper in their new livery. For the price and the coolness I couldn't pass. I did one modification to the model as the interior was all black, and therefore a bit boring, and obviously for this price not flocked. So I added some red flocking to make it more spicy.

Very cool! The flocking definitely amps the interior finish.

Love that Mini. The red definitely improves the interior.

Thanks Gentlemen.

Just as the Mini, the next model was (for me at least) too cool not to buy. Something completely different, but then again, my collection is all about variation. The model is a ACME 1964 Buick Riviera with modifications. The colour is a stunning green (cosmic dust green), with a white contrasting interior. Also plenty of opening and moving parts, like the antenna, windows, glovebox, seats, sunvisors and what not. I love this thing.
